Hi folks,

This is a new character (Gallente) and would appreciate a skill queue recommendation for life in WHs.

The plan in my head is to enter a small C1-2 WH as soon as possible whilst skilling up for more advanced WH life.

I enjoy the drone combat (hence Gallente) and I also enjoy PvE, so I am thinking Vexor at first would suffice for C1-2. (?)

Ship aside, of course the support skills must be also filled because I should be able to fly properly.

So I would appreciate some guidance based on your expertise and thank you in advance.

start working on scanning skills and possible being a salvager/hacker/archeology ship for the group while figuring out what you want to fly, what they need/want you to fly

this will let you participate in ops in a helpful fashion as well as let the group your working with prepare you for thier doctrines in PvE and PvP

you will for sure want a Covo Ops hads down with scanning skills and ship skill to 4
BC is good for lower WH like c1-c3 but the c3 u will need a group

Tengus are skill intensive as any T3 check with your corp they may want BS for sites in C4 and up plus the BS are cheaper and you can specialize in one in the same time it takes to get into a tengu with great support skills because you will need great support skills in the T3 to be optimal

if u run mulitple accts think about RR domis for sites and train all the alts for scanning in covo ops

If you are serious about eventually moving up to high end WHs you really only have viable routes for the vast majority of c5/c6 alliances; cap pilot (dread or carrier) or lokis. My recommendation would be to rush for a cov ops and get respectable scan skills then train for a loki. The loki can be shield or armor tanked and it's webs are almost required for cap escalation sites. In the mean time toss a couple of skills into salvaging and ORE industrial so you can salvage for other people who already have combat skills. Being Galentte myself I understand your love of drones but in WH space drones are used far more for pvp than pve.

I believe you expressed interest in eventually going into c5/c6 WHs. There is several reasons I recommend a loki over the other T3s if forced to choose only one for a beginner and I'll try to explain. First off there is only one "right" way to do capital escalations in c5/c6 sites and that is to warp a carrier into the site along with several webbing ships and then warping in dreads. Dreads do stupid amounts of damage however only to very large or very slow moving targets which is where the Loki comes into play with it's bonus to web range. The loki's allow the dreads to bring their full dps to bear and done correctly you can clear c5/c6 sites in around 5 minutes. Lokis (or other web ships like Huginns) are an essential to doing this. Furthermore Lokis can be fit for either shield or armor. Armor fleets are the majority favorite in high end WHs because of the added utility for pvp. Basically if you're running a shield fleet you'll find yourself missing mid slots for things like points/webs/ecm ect.

Many corps do run shield, sometimes for pve only and switch to armor for pvp but either way with the fitting of a Loki you can do either without having to train a new T3. Tengus we're the king of PvE until the missile nerf which significantly reduced their range and they are still favored by many but if you plan to pvp in WHs the only real role they fill are as ECM boats which limited your versatility. This is why I recommend a Loki if you're looking to get specifically train for WH life from day 1. Rush to a cov ops, get good scanning skills, then train for a loki. Also note that as a webber in c5/c6 sites you aren't there for dps so your gunnery skills aren't really important at all which means you'll be able to make a solid contribution faster this way.

In regards to your comments on high sec exploration I've actually made pretty good money this way and your drone skills are very useful in killing the small waves of frigates that are found in 3/4 and 4/4 complexes. Keep in mind however that because of the DSP and "sniping" 4/4 complexes there is a ton of competition. I would recommend starting somewhere other than Caldari space since that is the most farmed and working on your skills. Bear in mind that learning to be a fast efficient scanner will pay good dividends once you transition into WH life. But also keep in mind that exploration is much like playing the lotto in that you'll go 10 sites with nothing then suddenly hit it big so you want to learn to clear sites fast and find new ones even faster.
