Sidearms? If I want guns covering me, I'll just ask Tash-Murkon to guard me with a few Templars.

I'm not sure I can think of anything more immersion breaking than allowing firearms in a space station, A SPACE STATION sitting in the middle of you know SPACE and ****. you know that place that has no atmosphere that place where human survival sans a pressure suit is measured in seconds. A space station that could have critical life support systems destroyed by small arms fire. A station where an accidental discharge in the wrong place could result in explosive decompression killing hundreds of people in an instant.

Yeah I could really see a station administrator responsible for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives letting some snot nosed pod pilot disembark with a personal hull breach creator.

Knives, clubs, even stun guns I could see but not firearms. Any firearms that make it into a station that aren't in the hands of the security forces would be contraband and would likely be a one way non-stop ticket to the nearest airlock.

If you want FPS EVE buy a PS3 and wait for Dust.

Skex,

You do realize that in this day and age ammunition exists that will not penetrate the fuselage of an airliner, right? Perhaps you would like to revamp your statement in light of this?

5 heavy attack drones protecting my balcony and the door is locked, who needs firearms?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Even better - give me a fencing sword. Or should we go with a more Dune-themed pair of dagger+personal shield?

one dollar per bullet please

Actually they did have a dev blog about this an they said no combat in stations. It was a big point as to the idea of "then why the hell are we doing this again?"

Actually, its no combat to begin with. At fanfest Torfi talked about sometime down the road of players being able to board sleep bases inside WH's and fight through the drones to get to the loot. Stations are the first planned environment but they intend to do others. This will obviously take years to implement so its pure theory atm.

If we'll ever be permitted to start a firefight inside a station like Jita 4-4 is another matter though. Might not be good game design if we can start head shotting each other in high sec. P

You do realize that New Eden's stations are far more heavily fortified and advanced than that, right?

Well personally, if the guys playing Dust 514 can get weapons...so should we!

Last time I checked this was a game about INTERNET SPACESHIPS. Sidearms are about as useful as a snowplow in the middle of summer.

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Yeah, and I think someone is breathing a lot of it.
