Is it possible to make a decent pvp character in one month (from scratch), and if so, what should be done?

Here's a nice blog about someone going straight to PvP that might bear looking into: http://flight-of-dragons.blogspot.com/2011/02/plan-or-how-to-learn-to-solo-pvp-in-new.html

i make 21 day trial pvp chars once in a while...i have found the thrasher to be an effective ship to train within that period...it can kill quite a few frigs with lowish skills and many will underestimate such a young char

i just train the most basic skills and usually try to make it fairly cost effective...mostly ship and gun skills....some navigation engineering and electronics and basic rig skills

Train a guy for about a day to use Thrasher with machine guns, a neut, a point/web and damage control. Join random mining corp, then kill a Hulk.

yes it is......

RIFTER

lol.

But seriously, any frig that you can mwd and put some tackle on can help your gang out. but that's about as far as you can go in a month.

This is a lie.
You can kill Orcas and freighters SOLO once you manage to trick someone into letting you join their corp.
When Orca enters low structure, you could even manage to extort a few hundred million isks from the owner.

yes its true as the goons say that you can easily solo kill mining/indy ships if you awox etc BUT you can also do more "honourable" solo roaming in the thrasher i mentioned...i have killed assault frigs solo...and you are more likely to get solo fights with an underestimated char

Join a mining corp and help rid the world of the heartless ice miners. The universe will thank you one day.

Solo PVP isn't out of the question, quite the opposite really. If you know where to look, have a decent T1 Fit (Rifters!) and patience then you can get some solo kills under your belt. At this stage though, you cannot simply waltz into Low Sec and get some kills, you have to fight dirty. For example, head out into High Sec carebear systems, flip-a-few miner cans and blast away. Dirty, frowned upon, but it's like masturbating on a plane, when you've done it, it feels great.
