If his PC explodes, don't you think that his skype would also disconnect.

I like the your attitude OP.

Most of the time when people whine about how their PC wont play EVE they see it as a problem that needs to be addressed by holding back development, where as you my friend have got it right. If your PC wont play EVE go out and upgrade it don't try to hold back progress.

A thumbs up to you sir.

I can run 7 instances of EVE on my PC before it even begins to care about it. Thats with full graphics not in CQ. Soon as I enter CQ all hell breaks loose. I am pretty certain that my system can handle some better graphics.

So long as it doesn't go over a grand I'm not too fussed. I'm not bothering to spend only 300 quid and then have to update it in two years because it's doing what this PC is doing

Since you said "quid", I'm assuming you're from the UK, and we're talking about a roughly 1000 GBP budget ?

By the way, you may want to wait a couple more months with a brand new machine, since both Intel and NVIDIA are most likely about to launch a new iteration of their products (the 700-series NVIDIA cards might start appearing this month already, and the Haswell "4th gen" CPUs are slated for a likely release on the 3rd of July).
This means that, compared to today, in a couple of months you can either get somewhat faster things at roughly the same price, or the same things at somewhat lower prices.

Duly noted. I think then, I shall wait. Just have to suck up and put up with "the toaster" for a little longer haha

And aye UK...

would def recommend doing it this way if you are ok with doing the build yourself.

Yeah reckon that's the route I'm gonna go tbh...Big smile

This is true. But sometimes I use Skype on my phone and knowing my luck it will be one of them days haha

Have you tried entering the CQ with only one client open? My PC wont even open a second client when i go to switch screens...blue screen of death...I actually have to create a char at my mate Ziphis's house as my PC shuts down haha its...shocking lmao

It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself.

Peak video card power usage staying the same (or possibly even slightly going up with age), plus deteriorating quality of the PSU due to natural aging on top of a barely overprovisioned PSU to begin with, so when you try to wring max performance out of it, the PSU croaks and the machine resets.

I bought this one. It is a little expensive but I couldn't be bothered to search around too much.

The processor is the i7-3630Q though, not i7-3610Q.

Whoot, and you got the larger screen too...theres something about those 15inch screens that just seems too small...

Plays EVE comfortably then aye? (not that im after a laptop, just curious) xD

Yep it sure runs the game really nicely. Can run 3 clients on maximum settings without issues. More clients possible if settings are reduced. So its a really nice laptop all in all. I kind of surprised though as eve seems to be using all the 8GB of memory like nothing wheras my old laptop which was 2GB never got to those levels. Maybe eve is making the most of the extra memory I guess.
