WOW, poor guys, Shocking to see the plane stall and then just vaporize in flames. Seems 8 people dead.

Wow that's sick... totally looks like cargo slipped, that climb angle is unbelievable.

PS: poor, poor guys... that terrible moment when they knew that they were out of survival chances and yet they still must fall from the skies... Sad

Yeah that's my guess as well.

It's a real shame, but I suppose if there's any consolation, it would have been instant mostly likely.

Probably, but itd have to be a hell of a cargo to do that. Looks more like pilot error / mechanical failure possibly forcing a stall.

Still a hell of a thing.

Planes out of that airbase always try to climb as fast as possible. Looks like they pushed it way too far.

I heard it was at least 4 heavy army vehicles improperly secured in the cargo. The cargo slipped to the rear...the result is obvious.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Just stay more than 10 yards from any roads on your way to the airport and you should be safe. Cause roads are far less safe than planes.

MRAPs. Five of them. Roughly 27K lbm per.
Coming out of that airfield, the climb rate is always high - The possibility of bad actors nearby with MANPADs is high enough that a steeper climbout is consider prudent and is routine process. But that means you've got a lot narrower margin - you're in a very restricted part of the flight envelope. Even if only one of the MRAPs shifted, that could be enough...

Looking at the video, I see a very skilled aircrew trying to regain control after the stall. Rotating to the side, placing a wing 'down' allows the pilots to rotate the nose downwards, to set the correct attitude to regain airspeed and lift. Once getting the nose down, they level the wings, and you can see that they are starting to regain some lift, just before running out of sky. 1500 or 2000 feet just isn't enough sky to recover in an aircraft that large, especially one that heavily laden.

No doubt in my mind that they were flying it all the way down, and were far too busy to pay much mind to the horror of what was rushing at them.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.
