So you can buy back sec status for isk (and low sec tags)

This is a bad idea. Just terrible.

Why? Or is saying that its terrible reason enough?

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Saying that it is terrible is enough. Think about it.

I mean, it's almost game breakingly bad.

And you know why the OP thinks it's bad? Because all those he has attacked and annoyed in the past will be able to buy back their sec status after ganking him. Remember me monkey? Cause I sure remember you... Blink

If it leads to an increase in ships asploding it certainly won't be bad for miners, builders or gankers.

You could always buy sec status. This change just makes it a little more obvious.

It is always best approach to whine instead of figuring out how to take advantage of changes.

I definitely hope belts in Molden Heath will burn again because of Tags4Sec.

Yeah, I still don't see a problem. Why do you think it would be "almost game breakingly bad"?

It's a needed change, lowsec pvp belts will be on fire again.

Also you can only buy tags that someone else got from a lowsec belt, they are not created from thin air. It's a good element for conflict in lowsec.

I gank indiscriminately. Gankers, miners, industrialists, women, children, small animals. I gank everything in high sec just for something to shoot at when there's not enough action in my wormhole. I use throw away trial accounts. Their sec status racks up, i make another one. This tag change isn't going to affect me at all. Same goes for most gankers.
Its amazing how little people know about how this game works... even if I were to use my main account to gank and drive its sec down, it still wouldn't be that big of an issue. Just a minor annoyance.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

This is not allowed and agains the EULA/TOS iirc.

are you sure?

biomassing the char is not allowed - letting the account lapse and starting another one ...

if biomassing the character was not allowed, which is on a paid account, do you think ccp would allow unpaid trials to do this?

I like you attitude on ganking. Big smile

As for this, "...I use throw away trial accounts. Their sec status racks up, i make another one...". Everyone knows this, but CCP pretends not to.

Considering security status washing is going to be much faster and easier than it is now I seriously doubt anyone will really care about the tags. (they're changing the ss gain tick from 15 minutes per system to 5 minutes no matter where you are)

I hope I'm wrong but the tag ratting seems like the new reason to get in a cloaky and go look for the "good" rats avoiding all fights along the way. If they modified the damn statics and changed the drops to tags then we would have an interesting new thing to play with but they don't listen too good. They don't want farming unless you move around a bit or orbit a FW thingy?

Some of the other stuff they're doing will bring targets in the short term until all the farming "explorers" get sick of being assploded while trying to play the new mini-games for poop loot in low since the ones in high sec will be overrun with alts, idiots and the Jun Horde of gankers. I'm almost allowed back in high sec after years and can't wait to explode...err I mean explore all these new awesome sites....screw the tags let the shitfit farmers farm so we can get buy backs on the cheap. They also mentioned reducing rat sec gains so sec gain per hour is about the same.
