I swear, some of you people have very odd ideas about the concept of Sacred Flesh. A soft tissue piercing does not contradict the Sacred Flesh edict in any way. One only need go back some years and look at how augmented previous Emperors were in the later years of their lives. Cybernetic implants designed to supplement taxed and failing bodily functions are perfectly acceptable for the Emperor or Empress. So what makes anyone think something as trivial as decorative piercing is somehow in violation of tradition?

Trivial? To you maybe, but I would wager wars have been fought over less.

Hence why I prefer to steer clear of religion personally.

I suppose that's why the OP started the discussion, Capt. Fehrnah. He didn't know the answer, therefore, he asked. That's the purpose of an information exchange is it not?

Aracturus didn't bring up any mention of the Sacred Flesh tradition. He's just wondering if he should imagine a pristine and soft Empress or one with little bits of decorative metal while he's off in his bunk later.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if if the Empress has various piercings or tattoos or cybernetic implants. At least it doesn't matter any more than it would matter if Roden, Shakor, or Heth did.

"Divine flesh" that was cloned after the succession trials so that she could cheat death and return years later and usurp the throne?

I have no idea what you're referring to. The Empress was reborn and blessed by God to drive back the Republic fleet.

Wouldn't some form of piercing be a violation of the sacred flesh?

No. As others have said, that's a ridiculous notion.

Firstly, Ms. Fenrah, what I do in my bunk is none of your business. And if I WERE imagining something, it wouldn't be the empress.

You should do a little research into the events surrounding the last succession trials, Pilot Hanaya. I assure you that Sarum's "rebirth" had nothing to do with divine intervention and everything to do with transneural scanners and clone vats.

I understand that you're not one of the Faithful. In our corrupt and decadent age, it's easy to look at the miracles around us and see only chicanery and lies. This is a trap though. We see events but do not comprehend their form or meaning, so we dismiss them. We gain the satisfaction of believing ourselves the masters of our universe but our spirit weakens.

The Empress' return was not the work of man, but of God.

Our people's animosity likely keeps you from even considering this. I don't fault you in that matter.

Karin Midular in critical condition right now. Our medicine tells us that she will likely never recover; even should she survive, Midular will likely be a vegetable for the rest of her life. Yet the vigils on Pator pray not for Midular to keep breathing but to be returned to them as a strong and whole woman.

If God grants you that miracle, I ask that you consider that he would grant one to the Empire and Kingdom as well.

So the next obvious question would be, do Roden, Shakor, and Heth also have nipple piercings?

To clarify a few points,

The "Sacred Flesh" or "Godflesh" Doctrine understandably needs clarification. The Doctrine underlines the belief that those God has chosen to be leaders among His people are blessed with a fragment of His divinity. For this reason, royalty in the Empire is considered to possess sacred flesh, flesh blessed directly by God. This forbids them from cloning a whole body because the cloned body would not possess the same flesh as the original body, it would no longer be the divinely blessed body that God imparted upon His chosen leaders. It does not forbid partial cloning, augmentation, tattoos or piercings.

This doctrine applies only to royalty, not to all Amarr and reflects the belief that the leadership of the Amarr Empire is divinely inspired and blessed.

Speculation on the state of Her Royal Majesty's breasts is highly inappropriate and disrespectful so I will offer no opinion on the original question.

Why would anyone care?

Perhaps some sins of the flesh are required to remove such petty perversions from ones mind. I have some erotic servants who specialise in this method at a reasonable price for those who dare.
