EDIT : FURTHER TESTING BY Zor'katar reveals that the only library override needed is mscvr90 (native, builtin).

If you, like me, have had issues updating Eve Online under wine 1.5.25, do this.....

Add these libraries

d3d11 (disable)
msvcr100 (native, builtin)
msvcr80 (native, builtin)
msvcr90 (native, builtin)

Patch Eve Online.

Go to wine Config, remove all the Libraries you just added. Start eve online.....

Oh by the way, Station environments are working fine under wine 1.5.25, obviously the captains quarters will still crash, but at least you can leave "load station environment" checked in Eve's settings.

That's got Eve working in 12.04 LTS also.

And you can leave those libraries in place so far. I will try removing them again as a test.

Thanks.

Confirmed we're heading back to the dark ages of library overrides. For what it's worth though, after a little testing I found that I only really needed msvcr90... not 80, 100, or d3d11. YMMV, of course.

Aye, we are. Figured we wouldn't need all the overrides, just went for what worked in the past. I wonder if anyone has tested eve on 13.04....

I edited the OP to reflect your findings, thanks for looking into it.

Thanks everyone, this fixed my problem patching today.

For the record, just using:
msvcr90 (native, builtin)

Got it working about 5 minutes ago with play on linux on ubuntu 13.04 with the gnome 3.8 (if that matters). I used the same wine version and config shown here. In game I have it working with max graphics. Its good to be able to play the game again. Had to stop when i moved to linux as my only operating system.
