As there will be something interesting for mobile devices in the future, i wonder what it will be... It's some apps from CCP, or it's the CREST for the players. Or maybe some separate game for the mobiles?..

Well, personally i'd be very happy to see the following things...

1. An app for managing stuff in EVE.
1.1 If there is no connection with TQ, the app is still works offline with most of the functions.
1.2 The skill manager, with a function to add them to the queue.
1.3 Skill book injection.
1.4 The market. For traiding, or buying the new skills.
1.5 The communications, althoug the current EVEMail through EVEGate is fine.
2. Some game to maybe earn some isk using the iPad only. For example, a PI stuff, or a new game, like those browser strategy ones(Galaxy online 2 anyone? :))

So the idea is to be able to live some months or years with the tablet only Roll While traveling, for example. Or just bored of the game at the moment...

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

any particular reason that only iPads get the actual gameplay advantage or is it just post-purchase rationalisation?

No, i'm just like it more, thinking about buying the iPad mini - it's finally have a acceptable size for me Big smile
But of course is better to make it available for the broad variety of devices.

It's not my fault that you can't afford expensive toys.

it is your fault that you made that stupid suggestion in your post. If you want to make something mobile and want a broad set of customers you dont make something that only works on an ipad (which still sounds like a digital period bandage)

And they shouldn't put anything in an app that can change anything from/to your eve character. They can do it like dust, affect the world or manufacturing, make a mini game for PI or something but it shouldnt be able to change things like skillqueues. Log into eve to do stuff with your eve character....

I'd like a mobile / tablet app that enabled you to do anything you can do while docked in station in the full Eve client.

Communication: Chat channels, Eve Mail, Watchlist

Market: Create and modify market orders and contracts

Industry: Manage Science and Manufacture jobs

Skills: Change Skill Queue.

Why should skill queues be in-game only?

Because someone only have a PC.

A proper PI planner would be awesome. Something that mimics closely, the current UI for placing and planning routes with yield estimations.

Being able to update your skill queue would be an amazingly simple request, but one that would be a huge advantage to those users who, for whatever reason, will not be near a PC for a while to keep their skill queue up to date.

A really slick Fitting tool. Neocom is one of the best (if not the only) mobile fitting tools you can get and it does a wonderful job. Having a fitting tool with a really slick interface that resembles the fitting screen in the eve client and with all the functionality of Neocom, EFT etc but would allow you to import your fitting directly into the eve client. Even having the option to export fittings from the eve client to the mobile so you can refine the fitting while you travel.

Having access to your characters chat channels would also be a great thing, allowing people to be kept informed of things in real time, or just to keep in touch with their friends in game while away from the PC.

Live Market Data from around where your character is currently docked. Even with the ability to update and amend orders within your characters limits.

An interactive map, again like the one in the eve client, that provides the same level of statistics that it provides - pods killed in last 30 mins, number of pilots in system etc. Would be handy to have a tablet sitting next to your computer with the map on screen while you roam with all these stats available to help you choose your next destination.

*Tablet PIPE DREAM*
A proper eve client that allows you to undock and do what you can do in the full desktop client. Fly about, pvp etc etc.

Chat, Mail and Watchlist definitely. Maybe skill queuing.

The rest I'm not sure. I like the idea of a mobile PI game, but then PI isn't exactly take a lot of time to begin with so it's probably not as important as the above.

EFT and EVEMON mobile version would be nice, too

A way to gank other people cell phones, it would be epic if we could complety wreck them, just like a virus, destroy some critical part of the cell phone operating system :)

Also a way to erase all contacts from their phones would be cool, or mixing the contacts numbers for epic lol's, or for exemple a way to hijack their facebook page so we could put some cool animated gifs in their photo gallery.

i think what ever CCP do it should follow a few rules.

1. it should be available for everyone. So if its an App it should for for all platforms or better still make it a web option.
2. it should'nt offer chances to make isk faster than you could in game.
3. It should'nt make installing the eve client redundant. Would be a shame if eve turned into a ISK making tablet mini game option, with no need to ever log in to eve fully.

So for me an advanced version of EVE Gate would be a nice option. Available to anyone with a browser so no discrimination to those who are unable to afford or just dont want a tablet of any make.

With so much effort put into the making of EFT, EVEHQ, EveMon and PYFA (and any others i cant remember) it would be a shame if CCP made something that stopped the community projects like a certain panda hugging company does. ;0)

I llke the idea of skill queuing, corp management, corp chat and mail being mobile active,

But whatever CCP does i just hope they think it through and do it properly and it doesnt turn out to be another "closed door" idea like CQ/WIS has turned out to be.

Nothing.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

2 years from now PCs are mobile devices. The boundaries between PCs and tablets start to blur already with the new ultrabook detachables this year.

This is true, but for some time they will remain only available to those with a fair bit of spare cash.

In the meantime a web-based app that can be used on mobile devices would be nice for those times when a suitable PC is not available (travelling, unexpectedly working late, disc crash, graphic card meltdown, etc.).

I would like purely non-isk related services personally:

skill queue update (not injection)
mail (read and write)
chat channels (not local)

fittings, markets, maps would be nice add-ons but nowhere near as necessary

Skill queues.
Market trading.
Proper messaging and chat.
Transfer of isk.
Contracts.
Research and manufacturing.

And everything else that doesn't rquire you to undock from your station...
