OP, maybe you should stop upgrading your clone and start losing skill points until you can use the previous clone again ^_ ^

I didn't say that I'm pixel poor nor that I fly without implants. I'm not complaining about me as a space person nor as a real person.

I'm just saying that it's poor game design when some older player tries to have fun with younger players who fly cruisers or frigates and he stands to lose more than the price of a BC just by getting his pod killed.

Could this be working as intended to make you not want to fly with newer people "riskfree" so to speak since your skills will have a stupid amount of effect on those small ships you are using.

it´s almost like they want you to fly in your weigh class so to speak :o

6m SP is about 3 months of training.

Not much of an issue for high SP, but more of an issue for low.

as a space poor, low sp toon. I tackle this issue by avoiding getting podded.

as it currently costs me 50% of my wallet to upgrade a clone.

That saying I am able to make enough money to cover the costs too and as a 100 mill sp toon you could make 45 mill ratting in 20-60 mins easy right?

that's only 21 deaths in an UPS clone, max.

The OP has only lost 1 capsule in the last year, so that will last him until 2030

It is excellent game design.

The game needs ISK sinks, and here is one that costs the new player little or nothing, and costs the veteran most of the amount removed from the economy, while not being enough to feel oppressive to either.

I am looking at it from a much lower number of SP, but I kind of figured that as your clone costs go up, your ability to avoid losing your clone ought to go up, too.

Or your ability to make ISK goes up too with SP.

You'd think that, but by about the time that you can run L4s without any drama it kinda plateaus, probably happens around the 45M SP mark for most players

If you have 100M SP (and it's your own) and find a 45M clone being a problem then you're obviously doing something wrong.
