HI all,

I am new to EvE but am really liking the Arbitrator so far. Eventually I would like to fly the Pilgrim and Curse. While I might consider eventuallly being a Pirate I rather like being able to go wherever I want. Is there a place as a Mercenary or in one of the larger PvP corps for a more support oriented combat pilot?

The current plan is to train and max as much as I can to truely make the ship a terror. I noticed you can fit similar modules on a Legion, after I get the Curse / pilgrim squared away, is that the next logical step?

Hate to say it, but generally if you put a bunch of TD's on a Legion, people who eventually killed it would go on Battleclinic and question your sanity and/or sexuality. There's precious, precious few T2 ships which are support-oriented ships which actually get flown as such - the standout being the Falcon, the Rapier and perhaps the Widow. Everything else, be it Minnie, Amarr or Gallente, you fly it as DPS or you keep it docked.

For instance, althought the Pilgrim and Curse get sweet TD bonuses, the neut bonus is what people really look for. TD will drop DPS coming in on your gang from turret ships only. No cap will cripple the enemy totally, missile or guns.

Sensor damps are a special niche a few corps (read: crazy FC's) use effectively, but again, the main use of the Arazu and the much unloved Lachesis, is to provide long point (40km+), and multiple long points (like, point 4 ships from 40km).

Web bonused ships, such as the hyena, are great ways to get lossmails, nothing more. You will give more to your gang's survival and victory by flying a 170DPS armour Wolf with 8K EHP than flying a dual-webbing Hyena which will fold at a rude word from your enemy.

So, you are already flying a very effective T1 EWAR cruiser. Specialising in Tracking Disruptors and getting a TD Legion sounds like a great idea because you are new to the game, but soon enough you'll be flying a 760DPS shield nano harbinger melting faces just like everyone else.

Thanks for the reply, I do include the neuts / vamps as part of support. I appologize if I gave the impression of soley focusing on TD

You mention 'support' in the thread title, so Im going to recommend learning Guardian. Everybody loves logis, but noone wants to be the one flying one.

This, I think trinkets overlooked the huge support role that logistics ships have.

If you're doing "mercenary" work and want to be doing it anywhere you'll undoubtedly find yourself in hi-sec war-decs at some point, or helping someone with theirs as a neutral logistics pilot.

And to answer your question directly, yes any PvP corporation could use a curse / pilgrim pilot. Support can also come in the form of leadership skills used with a command ship. T3s can also be used for this, but you'll still require leadership skills.

Next logical step after pilgrim / curse? Well if you're still talking about progressing into something else in the "support" role then perhaps caldari cruiser V might be a good idea, doesn't take too long and will be excellent if you've already taken recon to V.

And again, logistics, everyone loves logistics.
