Let me just state once and for all, the reason you heard her breathing was wrong placement of her microphone. The type of wireless that she, and other was wearing should have been put on diffrently. Had I or any other with my knowledge assisted in this, the result would have been diffrent. The correct placement of the type of microphone that was used woudl be an inch away from the mouth towards the earlobe, not sagging below the chin or above and infront of the mouth/nose.

Basic error in mic placement have made the stage performance seem more nervous than intended. Cool

Yeah it felt like she was about to have a panic attack at any second.

A memorable moment for me was when CCP Seagull at one point announced something with sort of a Cheshire-cat smile, then seemed genuinely surprised at the reaction of the audience being so overwhelmingly positive (almost knocked-over by cheers and applause). As though she knew it was good news, but didn't expect it to be _that_ level of good news.

Overall it seemed like EVE is in good hands.

Having done conferances and shows for 2 decades, i've seen this happen alot. It's often a result of more than one person sharing these. They can be adjusted in the neck so they sit better, but if your in a rush you forget it, and the mic usually bobs upwards. And if your smaller than the person that had it before you, it tends to pick up nose/mouth breathing.

I couldn't help but smile through that whole presentation. I don't think CCP Seagull knew what she was getting into.

CCP has no sense of humour.

It's actually a quite annoying microphone series, I've stopped using them, and mostly use Shure's "Countryman WCB2D Lavalier" microphone for these types of events. I recommend them wholeheartedly :) clips ftw !!

A profound vision that is believably do-able. I'm with Hilmar - I love hearing Andie talk about Eve.

The fact that CCP Seagull looked terrified yet delivered a great talk was very impressive.

Thanks for this thread. I was waiting for a devblog of her to express my props to CCP Seagull, but this way it works even better.
In my opinion, her presentation at Fanfest didnt recieve all the admiration it deserved, so I'm here to compensate. Do I like the new theme she proposed? Hell yeah, I do!

I was among those players who joined EVE no because of all that grand epic blob battles. I was attracted by a "simple" fact that EVE economy is almost completely player-driven, and you have a chance to organize an enterprise of any size if you choose to. I was here to create.

It didnt work out well yet. You know all that "small portion of community" attitude from devs and "bears" despise from elitest pvpers. That's why I'm desperately happy to see a person in rank who actually understands what this game is about.

High five, Andie, great job!

Wait till they start a thread on CCP Sunset ..

Sunset is creep worthy though. :P

Seagull is more EVE bro material, it would be like creeping over your favourite FC....

-So Ms FC what are you wearing today?

- Coms black, any more talk and your podded

- So stockings?

- Primary Dalmont!

- Fuuu......

It was a good presentation, if Uniflex is happy with her I'm happy with her

Public speaking is an incredibly difficult thing to do .
try it sometime
try it in front of 5 people and see how you do - then think about doing it in front of a fanfest

I'd admire anyone who gets up on stage and does a presentation for more than 30 seconds

I also think ccp is very lucky to have CCP Seagull on board

+1(million)

She did great during fanfest. Ofc she was under heavy stress, but she has a nice style to bring things.

We all love CCP Seagull! She's pretty great.

And I've already removed a few posts from this thread.

I'm assuming my post was deleted because I was quoting another post that was deleted.
So I'll just repost the portion that had nothing to do with that:

She seemed pretty cool, at least what little I saw of her (I only really saw her in the keynote, don't know if she spoke anywhere else). Really passionate about the game. Really sure of the direction she wanted to take.
I'm sure she'll get used to public speaking. But in the meantime, I think most people were more interested in what she was saying than how she was saying it, which is as it should be.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Personally I have a thing for the female CCP woman who was doing the interviews.
