First and foremost, I just came back to the game yesterday and am a bit behind. I used to run a lot of 8/10s and 10/10s, but I had read that aggro is now more or less random so I won't be able to run them like I used to. I briefly thought about using a carrier, but then thought that carriers couldn't use acceleration gates.

Has that changed? Can carriers use acceleration gates in 8/10s and 10/10s? I would never run anything lower than that, but if carriers can in fact use said gates, my problems are solved! If not, back to the drawing board :P

They cannot use gates. This hasnt changed.

The only exploration combat site that I can think of atm that you can use a capital will be the 3rd part of the Fleet Staging Point.
Almost all of the other sites are gated.
