I am considering training cybernetics to 5 but with current attributes will take 12 days. Does anyone know at what point I could expect to see some return/ benefit assuming I would be installing +5 implants?

I trained it to V, but....
I have never plugged in +5 implants.
At first I couldn't afford them, then later I realised that I PvP a lot, and on occasion I lose my pod.
I am happy with +4's for all the things I do though.

If you install all +5s, you'll get an extra 90sp/hour (60 from primary attribute, 30 from secondary). Cybernetics 5 is 633 235sp. So, at an extra 90 sp/hour you'll have recouped the investment after 7036 hours if my calculations are correct.

Download evemon for checking training times with modified attributes (good for optimising remaps). Infomorph Psychology and some jump clones if you want to PvP without your +5s.

Keep in mind that besides the standard +5 attribute implants, Cybernetics V opens up all kinds of other, real nice implants as well.

This. The ROI is pretty slow if you're just doing it for the attribute implants, but if you want 5% hardwirings as well, it's another matter.

Thankyou all for the input. I am mainly doing it for the attribute increase, atm. After waisting alot of time because I didnt get the big picture for awhile I feel like I need to play catch up. However, I have noticed with only a +2 I'm getting a good boost to sp/hr rate. My attributes currently are Int = Mem so I am also trying to skill anything that I might need in that combo before remapping.

Now, since it was mentioned, I am going to look into some of the set bonuses and see if they might be worth the extra isk to fit an entire set.

Also, concerning Evemon, I am trying to use it but is there a way to add both implants and remapping at the same time to a plan. I have only been able to look at one or the other. The remapping saving me around 32 days and the implants saving me around 68 days! Does that mean with both I will save 100 days? (plan was only 309 days at current) .

I guess if I get the implants installed than upload to Evemon and check remap again would be the way to go .

You can insert remapping "points" into Evemon. Click the point in your plan you want to insert a remap (probably the very top of the plan, in your case) and press F9. you can then click on the remap point in the plan and adjust the stats it uses, and they will be saved. The calculations for skills under the remap point will then use those stats (until you insert another remap point, anyway).

Cybernetics 5 was worth it for me. I saw the 10 days of training it would take, plugged my skill plan into Evemon, then saw that I would save more than that on my current plan with +5 implants.

+5 cyber also unlocks a whole host of highend implants.

So yes, if you plan on using highend implants, or have a long skill plan, you should train it up.

as already mentioned, the immediate benefit is access to sparkly high end implants
so if you plan on using them, the roi is immediate

if your staying around in eve, and training skills over a long timeframe, then the roi is there too
if you have a fixed skillset goal with a finite SP total planned, then possibly not

I love finding highsec miners with full sets of +5 implants. They make for some very tasty pods.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com
