Survey was quick, questions are easy, no contact information was even asked for.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

I am curious about the rl money loan question. That was an interesting one.

Do you feel that your survey may be biased towards more social, helpful people who would self-select themselves for your survey?

Yes. Like every survey in which people participate on the basis of informed consent. Definitely something every researcher needs to keep in mind when using surveys. Thanks for reminding me that it is even more important in this context.

I will take the survey for a 500 million ISK. However you must agree to be fiscally responsible for any breach of EULA caused by this transaction. I require that a suitable in-game third party service be used to hold the ISK for a period of no less than 60 days in order for potential RMT investigations to take place.

Someone said something about the survey asking about friendships in Eve. I don't want to be your friend if that helps!

I could respond to some post but for the sake of keeping it simple: I just want to bump up my thread. Thanks for all the responses and feedback so far. Would love to hear some more...

OP - You're a copper earn't you? I can smell it. You hiding behind those sunglasses and all.
I won't answer any of you're questions before I'we seen a lawyer.

Did the survey. Was quit entertaining. I mean - take the second quistion:

What gender do you identify as?
Male
Female
Other

I was so inclined to go with "Other". Big smile

One thing i found which might be relevant to the survey, was the lack of understanding in the way you interact with people in Eve vs. in real life.

That differentiation isn't always there. The survey is build around the notion that "Eve Online players" are a different people compared to real life people, because they play an MMO (in this case, Eve Online) and the way you interact with them are based on that notion.

It's not always so. The way you interact with people in Eve has more to do with trust from your part based on how well you know people and how you would do in RL.

When you're on Com. with other people, they become as real as if they where in the same room with you and as time rolls by you'll start to interact with them accordingly.

It's like on your work. The longer you are there, the more complex your relationship with your co worker becomes. It has nothing to do with the workplace as such but more to do with - people vs people interaction.

You take a trip on a city bus and you don't talk to anyone, unless it's somebody you know, but go to work and you spill your bladder out, because you "know" people.
It's not everybody you talk to, even if you known them all equally long and its the same in Eve.

Don't know it I'm making sense or if I'm just rambeling, so i'll stop now. Good luck on the survey.
