Haulers more or less work right now so their turn on the teircide is fairly low.

If they have more than two roles in mind they will have to add another industrial ship to the Amarr and Caldari line.

I hope they're making the Hoarder the main Minmatar industrial instead of the Mammoth. Because Hoarder looks freaking awesome, best indy design of all the years.

I asked about them during the balancing roundtable. CCP Yerbittium (sp?) all but confirmed that they will be getting the same treatment that mining barges got. One with a large tank, one with a large cargo, and one that may be speedy.... each one trading off the other two attributes in favor of its own specialty.

inb4 all of them are useless except the ones with large cargo.

we already have a fast one (blockade runner)
and a tanky one (deep space transport)

and with the orca being trainable in 17 days, it beats the t1 industrials for both ehp and cargo. unless they want to give t1 ships over 230k ehp, and/or over 90k m3.

Hopefully they don't do something silly like give one hauler a decent tank, decent speed and huge cargo, trading only one feature at a time for the high speed and high tank variants.

Indeed.

And I think the T1 indys will all have their place. They'll be cheaper than the Orca and Blockade Runners... and lack the latter's cloaking ability.

indeed.

look at how that turned out for mining barges.

3 barges mine 80% of the ore, and the skiff/proc combined mine less than 10% of all ores.
you just end up with obviously redundant ships that fill a niche that doesn't exist.

Given the changes to skill training coming up, you might look at the Orca for hauling. Blink

Who says they can't make the T2 variants perform better than their T1 counter parts?

I hope they update the models as well. Flying a nose fronted tube gets boring quickly.

I used to think that the Hoarder was the ugly indy, though it has grown on me over time.

I still like the Mastodon the most though.

Traditionally rebalances have been completely independent of any hull redesigns. So wouldn't hold your breath.

But the Gallente have five haulers, what are they going to do with them all?
