If you travel warp to zero from gate to gate in lowsec in a frigate, what are the chances to be tackled?

It really depends. If they have a fast locking ship you may still get tackled, but the only way to find out is to go for it.

In a frigate, you'll be safe 95% of the time, in anything bigger not so much.

But, using the in game map, and checking ships killed in the last hour, you can hopefully isolate systems where organized gate camps are active and take another route.

Avoid certain systems (Rancer) famed for their Smartbomb camps.

Nanofiber internal structures. They improve your align time and speed, allowing you to get into warp faster. The downside is that they make your ship a "wee" bit more fragile.

is there a way to deal with smartbombing at the gate?

If there is a smartbomber at the gate, the only real defense is avoidance. You can warp at range to see if there's a battleship stooging around the gate, and then bounce off a celestial, perhaps approaching from a direction such that the gate is between you and the smartbomber (thus hopefully increasing your range from the smartbomber so he can't hit you), or perhaps gambling that you'll land and jump before he triggers the smartbombs - though if he's running the smartbombs constantly, you're just rolling the dice that you can decel out of warp and jump the gate between smartbomb cycles.

Most reliable tactic: plan an alternate route through another gate.

Yeah i learned about sb's my first week. If you see 15 flashies in local don' t warp to the next gate.

Excuse me if this appears as a double post.

Can you please explain this statement as I don't understand the meaning.
I have also been told to use scan 360 degrees constantly but the people who intent to kill me don't appear as red crosses.
Is there an indication when I am targeted or scanned?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

As far as I know only NPC's show up as crosses in the Overview.

You can tell if someone targets you because in your overview a flashing box appears in the item column.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

He is refering to local channel , not overview.Recent agressors will appear as flashing red skulls in there.

Usually someone targeting you will have yellow brackets "[" "]" in the overview. (Flashing will they acquire the lock)

However, there is a module that allows someone to target you unnoticed. A ship that is a dedicated scanner will have that module.

Also, there is an animation when someone is using a scanner, but it's so faint that it's almost impossible to notice. (I barely notice it when using my own scanner.)

Edit: addition

It's usually safe to assume that any ship that appears in the 360 scan within 1 AU is intending to kill you.

Even if they are flying a Venture.
Even if they have 4.7 security rating.
Even if they are only 6 weeks old.

It is possible to be tackled in a frigate. It is, however, highly unlikely. If it isnt a busy gate system you probably will have little to worry about.

Low sec gates are pretty safe because they dont have bubbles...only problem is that casual instalock tornado that will pop your frigate before you can even press the warp button.

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

Uhm...sorry to bust your bubble, but if you don't do anything, you hold gate cloak for 60 seconds.

If you drop gate cloak and still haven't made a decision to either warp out or burst back to gate. You should die.

I've lost one incursus to a seeming instant lock gate camp. Sometimes you are just boned.

Nobody said anything about staying asleep in gate...If you move you will loose your cloak...if your ship cant warp out and align faster than the time it takes them lock you...you are dead...
