And by doing that you also killed my post where I was merely pointing out the difference between Jove space and dev space in the different regions. Thanks ... I guess.

Jove space can get all of the benefits of the expansion and we still won't be able to go there.

Bringing Jove into the game as an active faction, or otherwise opening up their space, would require *much* more dramatic lead-in before it went live. I'm thinking at least a year where it is perfectly clear where it's leading.

As much as I wanted to put words in the mouth of CCP Gargant and imply that NOT denying the possibility of new space opening to capsuleers meant that it is likely, I will refrain. It seems that most of his post do have to do with maintaining a certain form of decorum on the forums, and accusing devs of insider dealing would be something worthy of intervening.

I'm going to guess that Eve will have to kneel before the Jove when they all suddenly appear in the midst of a giant Minmatar and Amarr battle once again. They will declare Dust 514 mercenaries the 'offspring' of both Jove and capsuleer civilizations while demanding their equality and freedoms. Then the Jove will proceed to give mercenaries save haven by declaring a new homeland for them by fiat. This will let mercs settle in whichever new region the devs pick first.

And what does it mean if Polaris has somehow had jumps in it if it isn't connected to anything? I'm guessing the devs are manually juping themselves...?

Hmm.... well, why wouldn't they make Jove Space an Empire space, like all of the other empires? Then the big alliances couldn't take it all over and farm it for items, and everyone would get a chance to see it and experience Jove technology.

wasnt this EXACT SAME THREAD made last year?

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

Anti-climactic.

Why?

Because it will be the "ooh Jove space is opening up!!!!" and then in a week it's going to be nothing but nullbears, bots, and gank pipelines.

However, i hope that Jove space is only accessible through wormhole space (to help increase the population) and people shouldn't be able to anchor POS's or build stations in Jove space.

No you don't.

With the majority of the nullsec blobs either already establishing or looking hard at establishing a presence in

I don't really care what anyone says... THAT would be great!

Would love if Jove tech became available. Many say it would destroy eve but I have to disagree. It's how you implement it that makes all the difference.

For instance. You could make it random events where groups of players are needed to fight and kill 1 or a couple of Jove ships. Make it real hard so it's almost like you fight a real player blob. After your group succeeds or fails. You can loot certain parts like it is with tech 3. Add reverse engineering and research in pos to use the parts. Repeat this a hundred times and you can create a jove ship of your own. (the bigger, the more insane the quantity of parts needed). This way jove ships will be rare as hell and an achievement to create. They will never be able to be build in sufficient numbers to influence the outcome of the game or major wars. They wont render all the other ships obsolete either.

Yes you might encounter a big alliance with 20 titans and one (even rarer) jove battleship but that just adds to the excitement of fights and the game overall. To destroy one would be a bigger achievement on the kill board then a titan kill.

Implement it like this and it would make a great addition to our ever evolving and exciting universe!

I dont think this will happen. I reckon the new stargates will allow capsuleers to expand and forge their own empires as the Amarr, Minmatar, Gallente, and Caldari once did. Simply expanding into Jove space would defeat this purpose.

I thought the design talk was interesting and I thought they were going to announce that Jove space was going to be part of the place where you could do their cowboy roams in land where you couldn't settle anything. That's nearly exactly what I was thinking Jove space would be...jumping around until you get the loot you want and then trying to find a safe way out w/o getting gangked.

going into Jove space? This means WAR!

Earth. A world outgrown. scared by war and burdend with our advances. A world that is no longer ours. A myth, legend. It could now be thriving, or burned to ash, or even ruled by another race.

Also, you would NEED a jove ship in order to get in. Last i heard, the Joves don't like you flying around there space.
