I just wanted to convey my concerns...
on how C.C.P. is responding to pilots using add-on-s.

I hope that C.C.P. is taking into account,
the phycology behind the pilot´s habits,
that those pilots bring in from other game environments.

The pilots have, generally, generated an justified true belief within themselves,
that causes them to presume all EULAs are the same (and various other things)

This belief is quite troublesome,
when it comes to the use of add-on-s. For after all,
in what game is the use of add-on-s, frowned upon as much as in Eve?

So the pilot, new to Eve, comes along,
Installs/Loads up the game, in 3 minutes or less,
Disregarding the E.U.L.A(s) ,
completely burned out ,
on the idea of ever having to read another fracking text,
Jumps right into the game, and before long,
starts turning to her/his habits...

"finding an add-on"

These are not evil people, these are just people doing what they are used to doing.
And the only thing i can see here is over stressed ,
CCP employees reacting to scenarios such as
ccp " hey! you are using a mouse with a macro button ! "
player " what is a macro button ? "
ccp " what type of mouse do u use ? "
player " type 12355### "
ccp " cheating confirmed, no further investiagion needed : Banned u piece of **** ".

You presume the player is a computer expert,
You presume the player knows the insides and outs of the E.U.L.A. ,
You presume that C.C.P. is defining the standards for all the worlds E.U.L.A.s (classic ego error)
You presume that the player understands the risks of using add-on-s
where as people are used to being forgiven for their eula erros, not shot.

I ask you this?
Is it not the
- out of control -
- consumed by their massive egos -
- C.C.P. employees -
, that are defining these ridiculous responses ,
the ones that should get removed? OR at least slapped,
before they kick another 1k subscriber base,
for only following the main stream agreed upon consensus of behaving in computer games.

So great, let´s just keep going down this self defeating homicidal-phsycotic path
And be persuaded by brain dead, self sealing, arguments.
Whilest we pretend we are austriges and dig our heads even further into the sand,
whilest some body else develops EVE2 that actaully does not openlly tell its players to go **** themselves, for being human

You really think an 'add-on' that adjusts the game to an extent that the autopilot already in the game is pointless could possibly be seen by anyone as basically the same as the UI mods in other MMOs?

That is a bad excuse, this is a bad thread, and you are a bad.

Came expecting whine, left satisfied.

Yes 99.99% of people skip the EULA, doesn't change the terms of the contract though, or make it any less binding. Tbh CCP could have flashing 250px neon pink lettering at the login screen saying
"NO MACROS, UI ENHANCEMENTS OR BOTS ALLOWED"
and people would still use them. Realistically though they do allow some add ons.

Add ons aren't the problem it's the intent behind using them.

This is my opinion/interpretation of the relevant sections of the EULA, don't take it as gospel, raise a petition if in doubt.

Gaming keyboards and mice, that have macro functionality are allowed, as long as they're not used to create macros that play the game for you.

It's the same with ISBoxer, if you use it to multibox a mining fleet, while at the keyboard, it's unlikely that you'll get banned. On the other hand using its more powerful features to automate tasks such as targeting, switching roids, reactivating strip miners on new targets, tractoring cans with an orca, docking, emptying the ore bay etc will get you a rightly deserved ban.

The final word on what constitutes accelerated gameplay/macro/bot use and other EULA violations is down to CCP, as it should be.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

If the rules say "No" then don't do it. You risk it you lose it. Can't Afford to lose your account? Don't use it....

Sounds familiar...

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

This must be a troll.

In the off chance it isn't. I'm pretty sure the nullsec Anom running Tengu bots and the highsec mine all the scordite bots aren't noobs confused about the EULA.

The EULA is not the only source for the information "CCP doesn't want players to use addons." Between the uncountable number of forum threads, the dev blogs, and fanfest videos explaining this, the EULA could be locked in a basement storage room behind a sign reading "Beware of the Leopard" and CCP's policy would still be clear.

Even granting that not every player reads the forums and dev blogs, your basic premise--that players of other games are used to addons being okay, and thus will not know they are considered bad in this game--still falls apart because the very first result of a Google search for the words "eve online addons" is a forum thread discussing why they aren't allowed.

There are several other links on the first results page saying the same thing, so anyone going looking for EVE addons can't help but see they're not permitted.

In short, show us on the doll where CCP banned you for knowingly cheating?

Just a quick FYI...CCP has gone on the record, and I probably misquote, " There are some types of players whose business we do not want."

So deal with it, bot-boy, and oh yeah. Star Trek Online is over there, k thx bye.

Didn't read the EULA?

Got banzored?

Awwwwwwwwwwww.
