Up grade from drake to ??

hey guys, im still new at this game and im currently running a drake with HM. i'm looking to up grade my ship but no idea where to even start or whats worth getting.

Any advice on what ship to upgrade too for ratting and what to upgrade too for PVP.

Any help would be great I feel completely lost.

Nighthawk is a very good upgrade. You could go Tengu, but Tengu is soooo last year.

tengu is like a month of training. If I go raven I would need cruze missiles and if I got nighthawk I would use what missiles?

From a BC to a Command Ship? Surely not serious? Shocked

Better to go for a SNI from a Drake. The Navy Drake isn't going to do enough DPS to warrant as an 'upgrade' IMHO.

HM, but you could get into a SNI (Don't use a Raven if low SP) with CMs before you'd get into a NH. Command Ships need crazy training Shocked

I like missiles for PVE, but guns are better for PVP.

Train them all, you'll end up using different ships anyways. But go for a Raven, its cheap, powerful and the navy version isnt all too expensive. i DO recommend you train launcher rigging to level V, reduce the penalty by 50% to add more shinies later on.

Train up for a Raven, with 7 mids and upcoming missile buff it's going to be pretty insane.

If your looking for a ship that will be of benefit for you to use in PVP as well as PVE, then the Tengu would be a good choice, assuming you have the skills and money to fly it in PVP that is.

Why is it some of you think "next hull class up!" when someone wants to "upgrade"? SNI is categorically a dumb next step given the OP's post: heavies and battlecruisers. So, naturally you recommend a entirely new class to hulls to train, AND an entirely new class of weapons (cruise or torps)?

The end-all-and-be-all for many of us is NOT the next hull class up.
