Account Banned - WTF

So over the weekend, we were on a roam in low sec, and a guy in local with us in cal militia - 2 month old character etc,

Started smacktalking us, we then started smacktalking back, and he then proceeded to petition us, and get my main account, and maybe a few others banned.

So is this how it is now?

Party A files a petition first against person B, while person B is knowing that this is a game and doesnt take anything to seriously.

Will recieve a ban for doing the exact same level of smacktalk to person A?

I believe you're able to appeal the ban. It would help, to attach the entire chat logs from the conversation. If the other person provoked everything that was said, I can't see how they (CCP) wouldn't work to quickly remedy the situation. To be honest, I'm quite surprised you got a ban, and not just a mute out of it. What were you saying? Death threats, and certain racial slurs, especially in combination, are touchy subjects.

This reminds me of that one time in tanks. I shot a KV-1 that had the 122 in the butt. He shot back and we proceeded to fight each other. he killed me and i reported him for team killing

He was talking alot of crap to us as we were passing through, so we all started trolling him, etc.

Someone then forwarded him that - Navy Seals Copy Pasta, the one that says What did you say to me etc and how good i am in the navy seals whatever. so a few of us sent it to him to.

We then got an email from this person saying -

If we dont send him 1 billion ISK he will petition us to get us banned.

we all laughed it off, but now, try to login - says im banned.

Fill out a pedition and ask for the circumstances of your banning. It's your only hope to get an answer to this.

Smacktalk is normally not a reason for ccp to ban accounts. New Eden would be pretty empty otherwise, especially Low and 0.0. They only ban if you do something really inappropriate like intimidate someone directly (" I find you and shoot you / your dog / your family, etc.). And that for a good reason.

I don't accuse you to have done such a thing, but the only one who can answer that correctly is ccp. Here in the forum you will only earn a bunch of flames Blink

I'm guessing you were excessively racist or threatening. Even though this is a harsh game and all, you should smack talk in a polite fashion.
