"Jesús del Gran Poder"- I don't speak Spanish, but parts of me are hoping that this name means "Jesus the Great Podder" please, tell me it's true...

Actually I have a fetish over aircraft with polished aluminum.

Thats why I put the Sabre and Lightning.

While it maybe incorrect, for me it shall stay with this meaning.

That's a fake CGI, this was the real K-7

Had a short and sad career, as the first prototype suffered structural damage from engine ressonance (an unknown phenomenon at the time) and crashed during a test flight, and so other two were abandoned before completion.

Tu-95 Bear.

I'm not surprised by things Russians do... they tried to make a tank fly P

You mean the Mi-24 ? well its more like a flying BMP but its still quite the machine.

Yay at another fan of the English Electric Lightning, that thing could out climb any plane of its era, is rumoured to have performed an intercept on the U2 spy plane and is the only aircraft to succeed in overtaking Concorde on a stern conversion intercept.
I like the Avro Vulcan as well, it's a monster to look at and the sound of the thing is mindblowing.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

My favorite aircraft is the MiG-21.

A supersonic mach 2 jet the MiG-21 is the AK-47 of fighter jets seeing service in more than 50 Countries with about 14000 have been produced including Chinese F-7 versions. Designed to be cheap for mass production and easy maintenance it has simple controls and a low training requirement all making it popular in many 3rd world nations. Nothing fancy just a 20mm auto-cannon and 4 pylons for air to air missiles.

It has seen conflict in dozens of wars bombing and racking up dozens of kills from most of the Arab Israeli Wars, two Vietnam Wars, the Egypt Libyan Conflict, the 71 and 99 India Pakistan Wars, the 8 year Iran Iraq War, South African intervention in Angola, the Gulf Wars and some others in Africa and Middle East. One of my favorites is the Ogaden War between Ethiopia and Somalia. Two of the poorest nations on the planet engaged in dozens of dogfights shooting down around 2 dozen aircraft and most of the planes fighting were MiG-21's. That is how widespread these things are.

Out of production now many are still in service around the globe with Russia and China selling upgrades including modern radar, beyond visual range air to air missiles, air to ground missiles, anti ship missiles and guided bombs to its users. It may be a dinosaur of the late 50's with a light payload of weapons but speed and maneuverability wise she reportedly handles herself almost as well as an F-16 in the air.

Bf 109s are ugly. Cheap, mass produced crap, the zerglings of the sky.
WW II German aircraft were mostly ugly (in my humble opinion) maybe except the iconic Ju 87 Stuka (short documentary here) and this gorgeous babe (Dornier Do 335 Pfeil).
