Gallente Fleet platforms with new changes

There really isn't any bad option for Gallente pilots now in fleet warfare with the proposed changes.

The Talos can be setup as a good entry level combatant with great DPS but poor survivability (offset by its low flyaway cost).

The Hype just gets easier to set up across the board, which lets you plug its existing weaknesses as a fleet fighter a lot easier.

The Mega gets enough slack to actually use its final hislot either for a Large remote armor rep or a launcher if your willing to get creative with fitting.

Even the lowly Domi is redeemed, what would once get you laughed out of a fleet now can be made to perform competently at range, while being absolute murder on tacklers and stocking a full flight of heavy rep drones.

Actually If you set all of them up, the Domi ends up counter intuitively looking the best when you factor in cost. It may need two fitting mods to do it (Which usually is the hallmark of a bad config) but when you run the math on DPS per Isk spent, and EHP per Isk it is very competitive. Its still not a good idea to show up with nothing but long range Domis, but its no longer a laughable concept to bring one to a fleet fight (ESPECIALLY if you are good at multitasking).

The only thing that changes for fleet warfare is ships like rokh, mega etc that were already decent snipers get a little better.

Blasters still have terrible range (only good for capital ganks).

Drones still suck in lag.

Ok you can swap to rails and do some ok dps with 350/425mm guns on rrbs mega out past the ~27km off blasters but you can do that atm anyway.

I hear you about the Domi. Personally, I think this type of fit (which will fit after proposed changes) would do well in a gate/station fleet slug-fest and would stand good chance of survival with competent logi.

- With Void overheated will kick out 1150 dps
- CNAM with no heat does a stock 1000 dps (1000 @5km, 950 @10km, 850 @15km)
- A mid-range Null will hit out to 25-30km (750dps @25 - 675dps @30).
- Up to 60km it will still manage about 450dps with Bouncer II / Null. (edit)

Yeah it's no Abaddon but it's cheap and those numbers ^ are not to be sniffed at. Null has a good damage curve and the close range dps is nasty.

If you're sitting in a blaster mega on a gate with a fleet, waiting for a hostile fleet of BS to jump through into your optimal range would 20% faster tracking not help do you think? Then there's the velocity and inertia changes - it's going to be easier for blaster boats to get into web range obviously, does that not occur to you to be a decent change?

Gates and Stations, Gates and Stations.

The agility buff means nothing in a fleet environment, simple fact is that modifier doesn't mean much after you cram 2-3 1600mm plates and three armor rigs onto a Gallente Battleship, you are still going to be move like an Orca.

The tracking bonus is going to be great for the mega, meh for the Domi, and decent for the hype.

The interesting part is the fitting requirements. Being able to cram a rack of 425s on a Mega without faction mods to keep the CPU in range is going to be nice, likewise (maybe) being able to get away without the heavy cap booster because your guns are capping you out.

Same with the Domi, being able to fit a rack of neutrons and plates without fitting mods could be pretty fun.

and HOPEFULLY you'll be able to jam two reppers and at least Ions on a Hype....I don't see it happening, but maybe.

Yeah except when everyone crowds around the Primary whilst all the other Abaddons, Drakes, Maelstroms, Tempests or Armageddons are burning away from you.

Good luck when you have to run, catch and then sit on the face of each primary. They on the other hand never have to stop shooting you in the face.

As for Rails, still a joke when compared to Scorch and Artillery. So no fleet Gallente.
