The Eve home page has a 'Personality test' to 'discover who you are'

Explorer is 1 (of 4) within the 12 professions clearly tagged with SOLO icon ( bottom right).

I love EVE mostly due to exploration and the opportunities it offers the solo player. You can usually also get some decent solo PVP if another explorer turns up.

Reading the Massively website ( my only source of information to date) the hacking open of cans is to be replaced with a 'more realistic co-operative loot gathering mini-game' and 'hopefully this will encourage them to take friends when exploring'

Dressing up this nerf as an improvement is insulting to a large number of intelligent and dedicated players.

Sure, I /we have to adapt and evolve, but solo IS a personality type as CCP clearly recognises, and we are under the cosh again.

When Odyssey is released we will know more, & perhaps there will be new way to live in a small unloved part of this great game for us still

For the time being though, and to comply with the United Kingdom Trade Descriptions Act, could CCP take off all the SOLO tags on the new player career guides??

You don't like solo, so why mislead people in the first place into thinking they could retain their individuality - this is a socialist workers collective in the making. Can someone somewhere in CCP stand up for the individual please.

The prototype for the new exploration system does not FORCE non solo play, it only incentivises co-op.

So you need pals in a multiplayer game to get the best out of it.

(Does anyone in CCP headquarters stick up for solo players or is that a 'fail' on the job application form?)

This is by far the worst post ive read in the anti-odyssey threads. You actually think this is a way to kill solo exploring?? Wow man, look at it this way:

If you do solo hacking and all the cans pop out, you can STILL grab like 8-10 cans before they disappear...you wont get them all but stop being greedy damn. If you bring a friend you have a better chance of getting them all. There is nothing preventing you from doing those sites solo.

To be honest Id much rather hack into something using an interactive way, have dozens of cans pop out with random loot in them, me grab what I can and hope i get something good; then to have 4 cans that I have to sit there with an analyzer or code breaker waiting for it to open the can. Only to grab **** I could get in a mission or from research agents. Its pointless.

By "friends" they mean another alt, so it's still solo.
It's the eve quagmire. encouraging multi-player interaction, while pushing mega alting solo play. Masturbating with both hands is not a 3 way.

I don't like the pinata idea because it just doesn't make sense. I hack a computer and it spits out cans? Really?

What next? If I fail an attempt will a safe drop on my head?

The level of income is not my point. My point is that there is a spooky undercurrent in the Forums that anyone who mentions Solo is perhaps at fault and in need of correction.

it is Orwellian - if you don't notice it, then you are part of it.

i'm openly fighting a corner for solo to have enough space to live in, but appreciate that you and others may think that I'm anti-change and anti teaming.

Eve will continue to evolve, but solo players are increasingly second class citizens.

Big Brother is watching us and has plenty of agents in these forums.

50% of players, play solo...quote from fan-fest.

Leave exploration as a solo pursuit, i.e. let them get all the reward for their efforts and let folk team up if they wish to.
