Not sure if this is the right place to put this but meh.

As a 0.0 player I am used to having raiding parties etc come through our space to disrupt us and loose us iskies...back in the day it was a fair fight and a defense fleet could be formed. now days with cloaky t3's and black ops gangs that just appear after a neut or red has been in local for 6 hours (probable afk). this causes fear to prevent anyone from mining, ratting or doing anything to make money.

There is no counter to this other than to wait, bait and take a massive risk as there is never any intel on what gang floats on the other side of that cyno.

My suggestion is simple. People in alliance chat keep saying that a cloak is unbalanced, and that you should be able to detect it. I disagree as detecting cloaks defeats the purpose. What I suggest is that the cloak require a small amount of fuel, just enough to make it harder to float afk cloaked in a system.

Just a basic idea...thoughts?

If he is afk, then move your miners and ratters next door. If he follows you then he's not afk. In which case set up a DPS heavy gate camp on the side he just came from and send your miners/ratters back. He gets caught, you kill him quickly. No hot-drop and no dead miners. Job done.

I'm sorry to hear in your alliance chat people complain for having to deal with some risk while ratting and mining in null sec.
Of course game mechanics for the rest of EVE players should adapt to your alliance chat complaints and fears.

Finally someone gets it! thank you, now as well as that i think that you should all give me titans and money :)

I'd like to see CCP make it so any Forum Thread talking about Cloaking gets instantly deleted...

Nah, they just cloak them.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

It's funny how scared people are of people that are AFK.

How is cloaking unbalanced?

But if you seriously want to nerf cloaks, then you also need to balance that with a nerf to the cause of AFKing. What do you suggest that should be?

Why not just like.. jump next door? thats what i usually do. If they follow they're obviously not AFK. If they dont then who cares Lol

With the upcoming nuking of grav sites, why not make gravitational signatures cloaked ships?

Find them by scanning for their mass. Maybe requiring special probes or skills, or just simply not giving a warp-able signature beyond 'there's a cloaker around here'.

Why? If you have someone in local and chuck probes out you already know he's in a cloaked ship. No need to add a new mechanic.
