Am I the only one here who would love for Earth to make a reappearance somehow? With its own ships, territory, the whole nine yards?

I think all the factions are Earth based, they just don't remember back that far. The Jove are the real Earth based faction while the other factions are their descendants. Don't quote me on that though, it's just the impression I was under.

EVE Gate opens again, earth forces come through to retake New Eden. New Eden fights back. Earth forces are extremely advanced and New Eden is losing the fight. EVE Gate collapses again either naturally or deliberately stranding a lot of Earth forces in New Eden who set up camp in Deklien after evicting Goonswarm from the region. In their smaller numbers with no reinforcements New Eden is now able to fight back and win.

Now we kill Earth faction ships for Tech 4 and Tech 5 ships and modules. Yay!

It is possible to get back. I proposed a plan to the 4 empires years ago for making an attempt to reopen the eve gate. It involved a super gate and the collapse of the systems star to power the gate.

The Idea is to force a large star gate construction vessel through to build a second super gate and collapse the star on the other side.

This would bring the wormhole back to it's original size and reinforce it to prevent it from collapsing again. SOCT has helped me and my research team send probes through small probes can be pushed through at lower energies. We have concluded that there is at least 4 surviving races on the other side and that the Jovians have a presence their until now unknown to the SOCT. We believe it is one of the many secrets the Jovian leadership have kept from not only their own people but our 4 empires.

Why would they.....we be 20 centuries more advanced? IIRC, Earth NEEDED the colonies that eventually became New Eden for the resources they would have provided, and we put a LOT of resources into establishing them in the first place. A collapse similar to New Eden's isn't unthinkable.

That is if earth hasn't annihilated itself and the factions left didn't have their own technological regression over the THOUSANDS of years since the eve gate malfunctioned.

But Earth wasn't reliant on New Eden to survive. New Eden was reliant on Earth which is why it was thousands of years before people made it back into space.

Although, it would be interesting to be able to go back to earth and find the remnants of a dead civilization. I think it would be more likely that you would find Earth has spread it's influence across the Milky Way and has either dominated the galaxy and all the species within it or has been eradicated by an even stronger race of beings that are an even greater threat to New Eden with the EVE Gate now open.

Perhaps some lore mixed in from the Sleepers that we find in WH space or something. Lots of possibilities.

Wouldn't the Terrans have been badly effected by the wormhole collapse on their side?

Perhaps they also became afflicted by the Jovian disease due to genetic tampering.

Or perhaps the wars that the wormhole stopped flared up again.

Sad to say this but I read all the EVE fictions and your wrong.

Jove who is alot more advanced than the current faction have a limited understanding of old EARTH TECH. Which is why they are so powerful.

The Amarr Empress destroyed an entire Elder Minmatar fleet with her Abaddon using a an old earth weapon.

You realize that after the collapse of the gate it took the Amarr 20 centuries to come back from being gatherer/hunters to being the first race to get back into space.

Unless something seriously happened on the other side of the gate in that 20 centuries I see no reason why they would make the current empires look like ants to them.

War never changes...

Besides, I think we are all up to some Terran surprises as the wreck shown from the new archaeology site match the models setting out towards New Eden shown in the Origins trailer. I can't wait to see the new exploration theme at work in our beloved internet universe Big smile

Technically, it would be more around 200 centuries :D

And you forget that Terran ships at the moment of Eve collapse were already more advanced than our ships today.
That's why people think that we can't find any wreck around Eve gate because the Jove cloaked them, to prevent the technology from falling into the wrong hands.

This all presupposes that Earth still has access to this technology. More likely, the Jove are the most advanced humans in the universe, and Earth is, at best, level with New Eden, maybe a tiny bit ahead (piloting T3 ships compared to our T2 and T1) depending on how well they fared the collapse of the EVE gate. If they didn't collapse directly from lack of resources, it would have been from galaxy wide war over what resources there were, such as existed before the gate.

While it's certainly possible that Earth survived the collapse of the EVE gate relatively unscathed, it's far more likely that they went the way of New Eden.

TBH, I am just waiting for a hapless explorer to go into a random wormhole and find the other end of the Eden gate in w-space.

Surprised this hasn't been said yet, but...
Where'd you think Sleepers come from? ;)

In seriousness though, as cool as it would be, it'd probably be connected with the Jovians somehow (perhaps they make the connection back to Earth)
However... reconnecting back to Earth with their advanced forces potentially overrunning the current inhabitants of the part of space that was once cut off from them... sort of sounds familiar

A alrge portion of New Eden's collapse though came from the fact that they had no internal infrastructure and were completely reliant on the gate, wheras the old world had infrastructure and equipment to cannabilize already used resources (recycling), so while its not UNTHINKABLE, the chanes of the Terran Empires having a similar collapse is slim to none.
