Forgive the cross-post from my blog.

I’ve lost the CSM election. This is a huge disappointment for me because it means another year in which the emergent content demographic in highsec will go unrepresented. My fear is that we’ll be catching nerfs at the same breakneck pace as has been traditional for my friends and peers and there will be nobody to stand between a bad decision on this matter and the slow but sure destruction of one of the most important things that differentiates this game from every other game on the market. My fear is also compounded by the fact that members of the incoming CSM have suggested, with a straight face that wardecs be removed from the game.

There is some hope, though. It’s been a record several months since content creation has been nerfed in highsec, for starters. Also, having been glued to the fanfest stream from start to finish I saw a significant boon to our kind in the form of Tags for Sec and, despite watching very carefully, I saw no reason that I would want to hate Greyscale this year. (I’m not opposed to watching the play-by-play again on that, though. He has a track record of hating our guts.) Additionally, we at least have Malcanis who, while not one of us, supports views with regards to highsec that are quite good and don’t **** on us. So, while I’m far too bitter to believe that CCP gives the most minute **** about us until I’m holding an illuminated manuscript that says so, we seem to be behind a bit of a windbreak for the moment.

Despite not being able to represent us directly to CCP, helping our community is still a huge ******* deal for me. I think it’s neccessary work and also I enjoy the **** out of helping people reach their full potential and find new and interesting ways to crush their opponents.

To that end, I will be continuing my work supporting the community through the Belligerent Undesirables channel, forum, irc and teamspeak, as well has providing reps, orca refits, free cruisers (until my wallet dries up, at least), and anything else I can think to do. I will also be continuing to publish articles and guides that I feel will help the community.

Additionally, there are a few other services I’m starting or hoping to get into place soon:

1) Scoundrel 3rd party services. As regular 3rd party services often won’t touch such things as the profits from theft or scams, and I believe that people in our profession do tons better work when they work together, I’ll be providing 3rd party service to those that need a little bit of guarentee to work with their fellow scoundrels. This is a service open only to “bad guys” and if you wonder whether or not you qualify, you don’t.

2) Belligerent Undesirables Wiki. I often get questions about fits and mechanics and I’m working on a wiki so that I can point to pages that contain this information. It will include fits, guides, and mechanics as they benefit those in my profession.

3) I’m working on an intel-sorting method that should allow me to gather and make sense of fairly large amounts of information and make sure it gets into hands where it can be used to make somebody’s ship explode. This is one I’m super excited about and I hope it works out well.

I also vow to do my best to crush corporations that I feel are shackling their members with fear and ignorance or otherwise holding them back from reaching their full potential. This bit is not news, but I felt in needed to be reiterated.

On a much more whimsical note, I will be declaring myself Pirate King.

Actions you’re likely to see from me in my capacity of Pirate King include:

1) Demanding those that I am ransoming refer to me by title, or possibly as ‘Your Deviousness’ or something like that. I reserve the right to create or abolish titles at a whim.
2) I will find some sort of crown. Possibly of the Burger King variety. I may also use my significant MS Paint skills to put a crown on my avatar whenever possible.
3) I may charge and convict people with imaginary crimes. I think this will probably happen when I’m already in a position to kill their boat.

I intend to run for CSM again next year, hoping that we don’t lose too many of my friends and peers to nerfs and dim views by CCP in the mean time. I will probably also be bothering members of CCP when I feel the need anyways, because it’s better than nothing.

Hopefully next year. Maybe you should consider expanding your platform to specifically cover lowsec too. You are frankly pretty close anyway so why not.

Don't worry dude, your views on CSM would have just been ignored anyway as CCP continues to destroy EVE and make it a World of War crack clone where intelligence is in no way required. Pretty much every emergent game play has now been closed by CCP in high sec. I'd also not be surprised if you got the required votes and CCP simply lied to not put you on the panel, they've already did it openly with one candidate this year.

One thing that direly needs to be done is to allow war decs to follow players for 7 days who choose to bail out of a dec'd corp and CCP can't even stomach that. This tags for sec status is going to be underwhelming too, I bet. Will be cool if we can just suicide gank non stop though with out taking sec damage but do you really think CCP is going to allows us to do this? Ehm no.

Well I'm not a greifer/pirate/awoker/sheeplover

But I did vote for Monk.

Why?

I honestly felt he'd represent a definite and real sub-set of Eve better than anyone.

Hopefully you run again next year.

I abjectly grovel at the feet of His Most Rapacious Pirate Majesty!!!!

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

You had my vote this year, and you'll get it again next year. I may be a bit of a carebear, but I do have some swashbuckling tendencies, and I want to be able to continue acting on them.

You had all my votes this year, you'll get em again next year. The other candidates were worse than terrible, some of the horrible ideas I've heard.. I can only hope the csm will be as useless this year as it usually is and that their dumb **** ideas are ignored as usual.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

You had my votes, and you will probably get them again next year too. I am a little disappointed in the current CSM as a mostly high sec person. But I suppose it is to be expected, for the most part.

You had my vote and my unspecified number of alt accounts.

Obviously there was some sort of conspiracy in play to keep you out. The same as what happens every time I vote for president.

Didn't vote for ya because nothing you have said helps us old kats in piracy.

I hope you wake up for next years election and actually help piracy, not destroy it.
