should the new trailer be the EVE Intro?

Honestly, even in it's current form, this trailer does a better job of explaining things and introducing a new player to the Eve universe. It would aslo be nice to have a trailer that imagines a more current Eve with things that have been added/altered since, like Dust, ship models, warp effect, weapons effects/sounds etc.

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

New intro video would be great for, say, a TV series about EVE Lol

But very definitely a good intro sequence for EVE Online and DUST 514.

No please dont... the movie is nice and all but its somehow without spirit... its just mindles pew pew we are so badass. Please dont use this the actuall intro is far better. It contains something mysterious something fearful and unknown... this is not call of duty ! The intro like old one or todays or trailers like incursion thats the way to go... there was alot of shooting and explosions already make it more dark, mysterious and cold as the space should be !

Ummm...I was under the impression that this was the intention the entire time. Am I the only one?

Well not exactly since there is not a real presentation of the four races. In fact their name aren't even mentionned. But apart from that, the story is very well explained.
(At least its basics, and if you excuse a few anachronisms and the fact that the character talking shouldn't be able to know what happened before the dark age)

Oh and the fact that there is a part about Dust. People could get confused as there is no dust on PC !... (yet hopefully, something important if you want a ten-year vision for dust too, but that's another problem)

But it remains a YES !

Well the one thing I noticed in the new video is the representation of an eye somewhere in the video. The original had it, the current one has it and even the new video kinda has it. You can see what i mean at 0:30. That's part of what led me to believe that this was the intention all along. New decade, new opening intro to EVE.

After watching the video again though, I think I may be wrong. The scenes from DUST just don't belong as an intro to EVE. I am sure this can be easily altered.

A new opening video more along this kind of theme with some heavy action and kickass music would be great though.

One problem: If you release that as a trailer for EvE you will get complaints because nowhere does it say that EvE and Dust are two seperate games that cannot even be played on the same platform.

It is indeed a nice video but there are so many fanbois here having nerdgasms and not looking beyond the shiney to see that for an intro to EvE that video is really bad. It shows Dust 514 gameplay and planetary bombardment with a tiny bit of ship to ship combat. There is far more to EvE than planetary bombardment and that trailer shows none of it.

Two of the defining characteristics of a carebear are wanting other players to play the way the carebear wants and whining on the forums for the game to change when they don't. Yet I see more threads on these forums from gankers than I do miners whining about wanting the game changed to suit them.

As much as I like the trailer, for it to become a proper intro to EVE Online they'd have to remove the Dust parts. While Dust is part of the EVE Universe, it's not included in the MMO.

I'm fine with the current intro. It's brainy, moody and it focuses on the most important part of New Eden: the player.The old intro feels to much like a history lecture. Lore is fine but as an intro to a player-driven sandbox, it kinda missed the point.
