How is this being greedy? How will this let the buyers win EVE?
It's just vanity items, extra goodies for people who care to pay 150 cashmoneys for them.

Wish it had a "real life" t-shirt, but bought it anyway. Similiar CE's go for right around $100 USD (take Diablo 3 with USB, art book, music CD, etc.), but I have a thing for the Gnosis so I ponied up the cash for this one.

I am starting to amass a large collection of Dust gear. Now all CCP has to do is make a fun, playable game so I can use it.

Yup. I just mortgaged three days at the target range in favor for a CE.

All it takes is a small adjustment, and it becomes available.

While i find this package uninteresting and expensive that doesnt mean that i will think less for whoever gets it, if you got the money and you want it go for it. But allow me to make some points. I can buy this if i decide to but in my personal subjective opinion doesn't worth the price. Price is not my main issue though. The philosophy behind the concept of this CE is.

If we are going to get a Collector Edition for EVE every ten years then it should be something more than this.While the contents are intriguing & have an importance related to EVE they dont seem to relate at the hardcore level, in a balanced short of way.

Most notable dissapointment is the tin can. This should portrait something from the EVE Universe and be the main storage box for all or some of the physical items. It could be embossed on all sides & display a racial specific image on each (like a battle scene or a specific class ship navigating space or similar). Letters could be embossed as well. The danger board game definately deserves a place in this edition but NOT as the tin can.

The ship usb hub is not bad but again it is not a balanced hardcore physical item. First of all it uses a specific ship that while im sure the majority of the fans like (i do), there are those that don't and quite possibly they won't bother with this edition because of this. Second, judging the "hub" portion of the item, it doesn't have good portability, and basically i will be able to "show it off" only when someone visits my place. At the same cost and effort i believe you guys could have done better and give us something more essential & balanced like :

Usb3.0 flash drive, quality mouse pad , keychain, necklace, classic dogtags and im sure lots of other possibilities, all or some of these items could have been easily be included and they should all ofcourse portrait and display something related with eve universe in the same manner as i described with the tin can. And better of all you could have included high quality military fabric patches,one from each main faction, to sew or attach on our jackets.

I will not bother comment on the digital in-game items. So many don't have place in any kind of CE package. Agreed 2-3 digital items are warranted & give a sense of in-game rewarding as well but not so many as in this package. This edition is too much "digital". Collector Editions were and always should be about physical content.

Closing, the items that i really like about this edition are the 190-page hardcover history book & the soundtrack cd, definately Collector Edition's items.

I apologize for the size of this post but as a faithfull collector of PC Games i have seen and bought many collector editions over the years, and i believe i have some experience in judging them as objectively as i can. It's not easy to make a CE of a specific game title very good and attractive. It is difficult. I would love to add an EVE Online Collector Edition to my collection but not this one sadly. The frustration & anger i seem to emanate is directed to the person(s) that conceived this package. You could (should) have done better guys but i promise i'll get over it.

Cudos and enjoyment to anyone that buys EVE Collector's Edition.

Guild Wars 2 had a pretty decent one as well. Most Blizzard ones, while a cut/copy/paste of each other aren't too bad. The Walking Dead Season 3 one looks pretty cool. There are plenty of awesome ones in the sort of NZ$150 - NZ$300 range. Besides, what is 150 EUR ... NZ$230. That's like dinner out with a nice bottle of wine thrown in for a once in a decade collectors edition. Spread that $230 over 10 years and it's really nothing.
