me personally I'm looking forward to seeing some new tactics... i mean for the past 2 or 3 tournaments there's been 3 basic setups: the minmatar/galente rush team, the tengu/drake kite team, and the E-War/SB team.... heck Darkside was defiantely the most inventive as they fielded an Amarr rush team but even that was kind of a variation on an old theme... i wanna see something new something like an alpha team with Tornados and SB's... now that would be nice... or maybe they will lower the point value of Battleships and we will be able to see those more often...

I've looked forward to it every year, and even though I wasn't happy that the initial games weren't screened, the last tournament itself was excellent up until the abortion, that was the final.

I'll tell you what I'm not looking forward to... and it'll probably come across as a bit of a mini-rant...

CCP Soundwave spending at least 5 minutes every broadcast telling us all how great it is, and how much fun he gets from playing games that aren't EVE...

As I recall the final in last year's theatrical production of the AT was so bloody rigged that it wasn't even decent entertainment let alone a tournament

Yeah I was about to ask what the point of another of these would even be given how rigged they are.

The new Caldari BC will not have the same tank as the drake.
So drake will still be the choice of pick for losing teams.

If the last fight gets rigged somehow again they should just make every ones ship self destruct or discontinue the whole thing.

Finals would have been fine if they had finished the match in proper style, instead of the craptacular throw that it was.

As for the new Tier 3 BCs in AT this coming year, I don't think the standard fits will be top tier for small gang PvP. They can't hit fast moving or small ships for decent damage, and they have sub-par tanks compared to Drakes and 'Canes.

On the other hand, they do have good speed and nice sensor strength. One could also simply fit them with medium weapons like normal and have a BC that goes almost 2000m/s and does better dps due to increased weapons slots. Should be interesting to see the variations that show up.

Not if the next one's like the last one, no, I'm not. The metagame has a place. CCP should not have encouraged it within a tournament that is about SHIP PVP.

If they want to put together a metagaming tournament, it'd be just fine if the teams then engage in it.

For the next one, match-fixing ought to be bannable. Randomized matchups within groups. Phew, just go and grab some of the methods real world tournies use to prevent exactly this sort of thing, rather than laughing and nodding and smiling at the outcome, which was enjoyable only for the participants, not the viewers.

Ha ha ha ha...next alliance tourney. I'll probably be watching something a bit more genuine, like pro wrestling. Tournament. If you like rigged games, you'll love the bridge I have for sale in San Francisco. It's orange!

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.
