Killboards.. what the hell happened to them? Battleclinic was always operating in the shadow of eve-kill after it popped up and anyone who uses Griefwatch is out of their mind, but now eve-kill is completely ruined.

When is someone going to develop eve-kill 2.0 because i am sick of not having any good boards (old eve-kill) to use.

I had trouble keeping mine up to date back in the days, would love to bring one back to life though.

If this were any other game, CCP would have a Universal Killboard supported and built-in to EVE-Gate and the EVE Website, drawing directly from the game.

Still say thats the best route tbh, going forward.

I noticed this over the weekend too... It said on the site they are having hardware issues and should be back up soon I believe.

Perhaps all the high sec ganking was too much for the poor server What?

They need to make realistic killboards.

For example, take a gate camper. I blockade run them 19 times. I get popped the 20th time.

Chance of survival is 95%. KB says 0. Gay.

internet spaceships

are serious business sir.

and don't forget it

Best route is not to have a killboard.

But as they're 3rd party, they're not so easy to stop.

Killboards are necessary as they add a bit of realism and history to battles for each and every pilot. Whether CCP should spend resources or making an official killboard, I would say that is not necessary

Add realism?

They don't add realism, how many people die in wars and they don't even find a body to bury?

Killboards are just for people who like looking at stats and for those that like to gloat/brag.

Would be nice to be able to give security to someone in your corp to view the whole corp kills too instead of them needing to go out to an external source to see.

eve-kill sux. It's been broken 80% of the time since they revamped it a month or two ago.

We at BattleClinic and Griefwatch take pride in the work we do. We strive to make our services as user-friendly as possible while keeping our stuff up to date. The BattleClinic killboard UI was completely redone about 6 months ago, making it the premiere free-of-charge killboard. In order to make it the most accurate board possible, we need the whole EVE Online community to enter their new customizable API keys. There's just no reason not to now.

Griefwatch on the other hand has the added capability to completely customize the look and feel of your board, barring you have some prior programming knowledge. Personal boards are free, so you can play around with it before you invest in a corp/alliance board. We have thousands of satisfied customers. Our dev team is here to listen to your ideas and try to implement them into our boards. So if you have an idea, don't keep it to yourself, share it and we'll see what can be done.

So if you're looking for an alternative to eve-kill, BattleClinic is not only a step up, but a step forward.

Couple of changes for bc that would make it good. Get rid of the stupid little window popups in the lower left, get rid of the link occupying the entire left side of the page that takes you to whatever gtc selling deal that is, and for godsake, get rid of the borat ad.

The popup and the left side of the browser thing is probably the most annoying things about bc. I will often click on that left side to bring the bc page forward and end up going to the gtc website you guys linked it to.

Your battle report thing needs some work, it categorizes the sides of the encounter incorrectly, many times my fleet mates end up on the opposing side for some odd reason.

I assume you're talking about the growl-like notifications that pop up in the bottom left. In your profile settings, you can turn those off (under look and layout).

The skin in the background is what's taking you to Deep Space Supply. We understand many users prefer an ad-free experience, so we try to keep most of the advertising subtle... hence the skin portraying various eve online ships.

Now that's I've mentioned subtle ads, the Borat one... we have an advert contract, once that's up we'll speak to their people and see if they can change it as this isn't the first time it's been mentioned.

As for the battle report, it is something that I recently added to my list. So I agree it needs some work done to it and we will make an announcement once it's finished and you can show us some love! Big smile

Oh, I don't mind ads, just not the entire left side of the page, I usually click somewhere off the main portion of the page so I can get the window active to scroll with the mouse wheel, many time I forget not to click there and it takes me to the gtc site instead of letting me scroll on the page. Maybe just move it somewhere else or make it not the entire left side, but meh.

I don't generally log into bc, mostly because I'll close the page here and there and logging in repeatedly sux. I haven't noticed a "keep me logged in" dealie anywhere. That would help a lot if you could stay logged in via cookie or something...of course unless I'm missing the ability to stay logged in somewhere...

It's "you're" (all still idiots). You're is a contraction of "you are." The little punctuation mark replaces the "a" in "are" and the two words get shoved together to make one word - "you're." (I'm assuming you made it past the third grade.)

It depends.

A killboard as in numbers of kills - like most games have - isn't so bad. Killboards with losses and exact ship fittings is less desirable and realistic. It has several negative side effect like people not wanting to lose fights because of their kill/loss ratio and plenty of corps and alliances frown upon players with below par PvP scores. Resulting in people only wanting to engage in blob ganking.
It inhibits PvP, which can't be a good thing.
