Introducing myself - Kim Ji-Young

I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself here while my pod undergoes some scheduled maintenance.

I'm Kim Ji-Young and I'm a recent graduate of the Royal Amarr Institute. I went for my first unaccompanied flights today, and I'm very excited to fly more as well as to deploy my energies in ways that serve our Empire the best. I am very concerned about protecting and upholding the Amarr way of life and looking for the best ways to ensure that our Empire and what it stands for is secure for future generations.

At the moment I am a little directionless as I am trying to absorb a lot of new information at once. It is true what they say, that the RAI training does not really prepare one for the realities of flight, just the theory. I have no capsuleer acquaintances currently, and I think it wouldn't hurt for me to get to know a few people, so if any of you with sympathetic aims would like to get in touch, please do.

(I am not completely naive and am well aware that enemies of the Empire also peruse this forum. This offer does not extend to them, not that I can think of a reason why they would want to talk to me - or me, to them. I'm sure we haven't much to say to each other.)

Thanks for reading. Anyone with any advice or questions for a new Amarr pilot (that can be answered publicly, of course), please use this thread to reply.

Greetings, ms. Young, and welcome to space.

I'm afraid I don't have much advice and questions to hand out on such a tabula rasa, but I'm always interested in meeting new people. I hope I'll see you around, and if you're situated in Amarr space, I can extend an introduction to my hotel's public area where we could discuss maters more, if you're interested that is.

In any case, good luck with your future endavours.

It might be my first day in the pod, but I'm not so naive that I don't do background checks. For a pirate, you're quite the charmer.

I think I'll best be careful around the likes of you.

Welcome to the capsule, Miss Ji-Young.

Feel free to contact me for questions or simple conversation over the fluid router or through the mail system, I will do my best to address any concerns or curiosities you may have.

Being directionless fresh from graduation is understandable, so do not think this counts against you. That you desire to find direction but to do so based on information and wisdom speaks highly of you.

May God bless your learning and the path of service you choose to take.

I'm not so worried about my reputation. I'm enjoying for the first time in my life not having to answer to anyone except God and the law. I'm more worried about finding out what order to push all the buttons in.

Thank you for your offer, I'll keep it in mind.

No anything, in your case.

I like your sunglasses though. I think it's the way they obstruct your face, so I don't have to look at it.

I like you already.

So long as you do not endangering mine or that of my allies I wise you the best of luck in your aims to safeguard your own society, pilot. I am sure you and I will run into each other at some point, if not in a few months then some years down the line at least.

We'll see what happens. As I haven't decided exactly where my career is going yet, I can't say how much interaction I'll have with you or anyone else specifically. However I do not consider myself aggressive by nature or looking to pick fights without due purpose.

Great, another nationalist... because we totally needed more of those...

Regardless I welcome you to your new life. Hopefully your travels will give you a more cosmopolitan view on the big galaxy that's about to get a lot smaller for you.

If you need assistance or just someone to talk to feel free to contact me., capsuleer to capsuleer. I'm not an enemy of the Empire, but I certainly wouldn't call myself a friend.

Welcome to space .

Beware of sharks.

"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.  And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all."

Congratulations, with the audacity to assume anyone gives a damn, you have put yourself on the radars of many visible individuals in space.

I was about to say it takes more than words to stay there, but no, that's not actually true. Words alone suffice to get you the publicity, as the IGS well knows.

It'll take more than that for anyone to start giving a damn, though.

Do fly safely, pilot.

Something to think on as you spend more time unbound to any specific gravity well. What constitutes an "enemy of the Empire" is not always as clear and easily defined as one might think.

I'm not clamouring for attention or trying to ingratiate myself with "visible individuals" and I don't expect most others to care about what the latest very green pilot says or thinks. I'm just trying to make myself visible so I can get to know a few like-minded people, if they exist. After all what is a communications forum good for, if not opening lines of communication. Obviously you don't fall into the category of a like-minded person, that is fine. There is no need to comment so belligerently unless you also seek attention.

This thought did occur to me, which is why I haven't rushed to ally myself with anyone in particular at this stage. I am aware of some of the more high-profile organisations that exist to combat the Empire's enemies, but I cannot truly assess their proclaimed merits with my current lack of knowledge. Maybe we could have a discussion about that at some point.

Sounds like an open invite. If I do find myself there in the future and somebody complains about my presence, I will not hesitate to inform them that you invited me. Forgive me if I decline for now.

Thank you to those who sincerely wished me well.
