I approve of this strategy.

Alongside deshipping the same miners and pod killing them, of course.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

We know the devs reaction to bumping as a thing.
But wonder what they'll think about bumping to stop a game mechanic.

Bumping is already used to stop a game mechanic - the mechanic where the lasers can shoot the ice. I have a feeling that this wouldn't really make a difference, though. Unless I am misunderstanding something, there is no guarantee of another ice anomaly respawning in the same system after 4 hours. Therefore, the ice miners are already going to be forced to be much more mobile than they currently are, so they can just move to another system.

Miner bumping and ganking will, of course, still serve the same purposes that they do now.

as much as I hate mining. all one has to do to avoid bumping is log out.
well that's the 1st thing that comes to mind.

oh and ccp what a bullshit cop out to fix ice belts in high sec.

Ice belt depletion is a damn good start, however the 4 hour respawn is a bit lame. If it had been me I'd have used the current DT asteroid belt respawn mechanic, but given that ice belts are not as commonplace as asteroid belts then a compromise along the lines of the changes was probably a given.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

That's very likely a no go.

Keeping sites from despawning and thus keeping new sites from spawning
means that you deny other people finding of new sites, which will get you slapped by the GMs.

I remember a ruling regarding this, but i can't get a lock on it in my memory.

I *really* suggest petitioning about this.

You are probably thinking about the Incursion "exploit", http://community.eveonline.com/mb/news.asp?nid=incursion-site-exploit-notification

This is different from keeping the miners away from the last chunk of Ice to prevent completion of the anomaly.

Ah ... that might be the case.

In any way, though, I doubt the GMs will be happy about players preventing sites from spawning ...

Or ... worse. Hahaha, imagine sites just KEEP spawning all day, with none despawning ....... XD

It's not stopping any mechanic... we're saving the last roid for us to mine later when we get around to it.

Protecting profits is a legitimate reason to do anything in Eve Big smile

Read the latest dev-blog about Ice mining.

The reason they did this was, despite "the efforts of certain ambitious players" Twisted, too much ice was available.

We would simply be helping CCP maintain the value of Ice and Ice products.

If we are truly blessed, with the new scarcity of ice, we might...might I tell you....see ice mining corps wardec each other.

Madness, you say?

Well...we'll see.

We will see......

Also, watching ice bears try and kill each other in failfit combat ships would be funny. As. Hell.

Watch them kill each other, warp in and suicide gank the victors, then use alts to loot the whole field, because you can.

Watching the bears that farmed incursions try to mount counter attacks to our legitimate running of highsec incursions in blackbirds was funny as hell Bear

We couldn't counter them because we were laughing too hard Lol
