Oculus Rift Developer Kit

current natively supported games: Team Fortress 2, Mirror's Edge, Doom 3, HAWKEN

and any other game that does the Nvidia 3d vision thing, such as EVE, I will get on my roomie's comp and see about what I can do Oculus-side to get that lookaround functionality

what's the 3D going to look like? do the crosseye thing with this image from Mirror's Edge

Maybe once it is finished, I got no interest in the dev kit. Nor do I really have any games that I need it for.

Yeh anyway, i used to go play VR in trocadero in the early 90's and foresaw the promise it held.
Smart money today goes into the companies that are still doing it - because it can be done properly and easily now.

Ill also make the prediction that within 5 years there will be full vision and sound headsets at "why not" prices.

Finally - Quiktime events will die.

I actually reconsidered. After reading that the dev kit will be rather raw, im going to hold off on it until the main release with upgrades and feedback.

I have a philosophy of never buying first gen tech anymore, ive been burnt too much.

they might get more sales with that promise of june, but it's not likely. estimates of orders are around 17,000 on the low-end, and estimates of production are 1000/week high-end, and they started shipping the beginning of this month.

it's said this for a couple weeks now

so yeah, what I'm saying is it didn't arrive today and it looks like it might not arrive for a while.
