It sounds like lowsec might not be the right fit for you. With low experience and T1 fits, viable targets are slim. And if you shoot everything you see, you'll end up dying 95% of the time without learning much. You'll need T2 fits if you want to actually kill someone competent.

Is there a reason you don't look at Red v Blue? The great thing about RvB is that you don't have to worry about sec status or getting podded. There are also a lot of low SP chars flying around T1 fits learning too, so there will probably be more viable targets in RvB. Then once you get a handle on combat mechanics and fittings, you can go to lowsec to work on hunting/dscan skills. (If that's your fancy.)

Its such a shame that there is no easier method for new players like this to get into pvp, which lets face it is where the real fun is.

Factional Warfare should be this place.

All they need is:

1) a proper way of limiting fights so that newbies can contribute properly.

(They tried to do this with small plexes but messed it up by allowing faction frigates in)

2) A way of this pvp to generate enough isk to be self- sustaining.

It really cant be that hard..... can it?

The more dangerous the space, the better the exploration rewards. I know young players who became billionaires thanks to some luck and lowsec exploration. One thing worth noting is that the income is not steady.

I am going to try to begin a low sec exploration career i beleive. I hav two accounts. it was 4.95 for the renewal.

i am a bit baffled on which character to advance in a life of exploration and crime though.

i resubbed the alt since it was my salvager before and actually ahd a substantial amount of isk on it.

The hard part i have atm is , hwo simple my understanding is. It's really quite time consuming to plan out a route, of where im going and what im going to do, fit ships etc. The corps that i have been invited to have all been really great people but very small. I tried rvb last time i subbed and it really just felt like a cluster of people shooting eachother in frigs. I could give it a whirl again but i felt like playing with people in voice chat would really progress me alot quicker through the game as opposed to team deathmatch in red vs blue. I'd like to pvp for a purpose , and also learn strategies as well.

my hardest part now is to get motivated, when i log in i seem to get distracted from the goal, with skills, fitting, the am i redy for this, where do i go, how do i do it type stuff.

im going to try to do some low sec roaming and exploration tonight, following the 900 pages of guides i've read.

I am not sold on exploration, i havent even tried it, my main goal is still to pew pew some people in low sec and do some pirating, roaming etc.

Even though I have been playing for about 2 years, I rarely escaped highsec and when I did it was simply to make a quick jump.

My question though WarFireV is how would you go about finding NPC losec? I, like Tempus am ready to venture out and it sounds at least like NPC losec would be rad. Are those systems actually classified as NPC losec?

NPC nullsec is 0.0 security systems that are owned by NPC corps so there is no sov warfare. Therefore you can dock in most of the stations without the risk of people taking the station you live out of.

There are two types of NPC nullsec. Whole region and partial region.

All of the whole regions are: Curse, Syndicate, GreatWildland, Stain, Venal, Outar Ring. If you looking into doing PvP I would check out Curse. Its the best spot for PvP, but it also is the home of some of the best PvPers in Eve aka Darkside.

Stain is another option, it is the biggest nullsec region in the game so it is possible to hind from the larger groups that live there. The biggest problem you will have with Stain is that it has no connection with lowsec/highsec so you will have to cross conquerable space in order to get there.

There are also a few regions that are part conquerable and part unconquerable, while it is possible to live in these parts of the region I would not recommend it for someone new since you will be having to deal with the people who own the conquerable part on a daily bases.
