Prey: A typically fit solo PvP Hurricane.

I was wondering what ships have been successfully used to engage such Hurricanes. Nothing terribly expensive, just something basic.

Prophecy with at least one tracking disruptor and a brutix/talos with some tank should both be able to melt a cane b4 you hit structure.

I am not old, just bitter.

Triple rep Myrmidon if you're wanting a BC. Takes a while if the cane is armour fit but doable.
Failing that just pick a battleship, most well fitted BSs will kill a BC pretty quickly once they have hard tackle.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

I dimly recall engaging a Hurricane with an Enyo; I may have had backup, but I don't recall. If it gets close, the Enyo can probably outrun the tracking of a Hurricane's guns, and it can throw a staggering amount of damage. Variants will use either buffer tanks or armor reppers to sustain themselves in an engagement; an extended-sortie fit I like to use fits a rep and a small Nosferatu with ion blasters, but that can be replaced with a rocket launcher for even more damage, if you're willing to fit a cap booster.

I've had very good luck killing all manner of Hurricanes in my SFI.

I second the Enyo. With high speed and resists at blaster range would do quite well.

Lots of bad advice there. Depending on your opponent to plate their cane or approach and park next to you in order for you to win is r3tarded.Roll

Slowboats don't work. There is no such thing as a "kiting harb." The best you can hope to achieve in a harby is get the cane to warp out. Same goes for Myrm, except it will more likely to run out of drones, then cap, then pop, where the harby has better chance of chasing off the cane and survive. Prophecy is similarly lol. Brutix is an utter joke. It's glass, won't ever reach the cane, and will pop. Talos works, if you can fly it well.

I was looking for the fit I used and couldn't find it but this one is pretty close, I remember it had a med neut on it but I cant for the life of me remember how I squeezed it on there.

canes are terrible now tbh, mass addition in addition to loss of utility slot and nerfed pg means it can't dictate range as stupidly as it did before and it cant win an all out brawl with only 1 neut now as well.

Possibly one of the weakest BCs now in a straight up 1vs1 brawl now imo since it's a glass cannon. Only thing I think it could beat is a harby and that's now uncertain since it's been buffed to 9 effective turrets.

Yeah this is true, Now there are hundreds of rabid Cain lovers waiting with drool falling from the side of their mouth for the new but somehow very familiar Faction Cain. They will be back with a boat that cost 4 times as much but doing the same old things in the newest way. Smile

So in 30 days, We should see some of the old Cain dominance back. Or at least I hope so P

Honestly if you want to kill a ship with neuts I would recommend a high dps myrm, that is a shield fit myrm with ACs and nothing but gyros and drone damage mods in the lows, with a simply incredible amount of DPS (900+ with some fits), a pretty respectable amount of ehp and no dependancy on cap outlasting any solo BC is almost effortless

1. Catch it
2. Kill it
In that order.

Your slowboat Harby, which has no range control and use multi for some reason, can't fulfill #1. Or #2, for that matter.
