It looked pretty cool, but I wonder how tedious that's going to get when doing 10+ jumps.

I'm also concerned about client load.

But still, very nice. I did get a huge nerd boner.


If we can turn it off that would be excellent. Forcing us to keep it on endlessly would be extremely frustrating.

It can't possibly be more tedious than 10+ loading bars.

I'll almost guarantee you it's using the normal in-game rendering engine rather than loading a pre-built video, so it should be seamless. If your system is that old perhaps you should upgrade?

Get a better computer, stop dragging down everyone else's enjoyment with your decrepit hardware.

It looked nice. I was left wondering how it would interact with play during gate camp escapes and pins or what have you. Can you still be killed when your animation starts an will it slow down your reactions on a warp in?

My impression is that it is intended to replace the loading bar, so no gameplay should change. Obviously I could be wrong.

I hope they test it by jumping 1000 guys into a system at once, if it works without blackscreening, great!

People are missing that this is replacing the loading bar.

The animation only takes as long as your PC needs to load the system and synchronize it with the server - The actual animation doesnt actually take longer than it would take with the old style loading bar and black screen.

The loading bar and black screen are going away and are not coming back.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

i'm pretty shure nothing is changed when it comes to your ship , you press tha jump button , your ship dissapear , and instead of a loading bar you get the animation.

Yep, this is intended to replace the loading bars. Runs during the time taken for the client and server to resynchronise in the new system.

We also did a LOT of optimisation on how the client unloads and reloads assets on jumping. So not only is it pretty, it's less load :)

The new effect is nice and all, but during a long trip it sure seems like it would get disorienting and repetitive.

An option to turn it off (and replace with a simple black screen) would be very welcome. I also have some concerns about load time in high-lag situations, but too early to tell
