LP transfer contracts

Players should be able to create contracts which sell LP for ISK to other players. This would decouple good traders / haulers from players who are good at LP creation. Transfer tax would remove some ISK (or LP?). LP would still stick to the original NPC corp, nothing would change this regards.

(and before somebody asks, no isk is created, its not a "convert LP into ISK" mechanic)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Supported, minus one point: transfer tax should charge isk from price paid for LP, just like any other market transaction, not LP. LP are isk sinks, we want them to remain. Isk is the one that should be taxed.

thanks. edited tax as suggested. I wasn't sure about that since its difficult to calculate tax for something with no fixed isk value

People already "Buy LP for isk" but this is mostly through mailing lists, and forum threads, where a seller advertises what type of LP, and how much isk he wants per, or vice versa. This is done through the isk provider, telling the LP seller what to buy, then the isk provider buys the items off the LP seller at the agreed upon value.

The de-coupling you speak of already exists, this would just be a simpler fashion, akin to if they allowed the trade/transfer of aurum as a whole. Which I hope they do.

the decoupling does not exist since the lp owner has to buy the items and trade them. It doesn't matter if he uses a mailinglist or not. No LP is traded. Items are.

That's like saying we don't need the market since we can trade items through forum and mailing lists. Sure, you can... but you don't.Cool

Considering CCP are planning to allow players to exchange tags for sec status it seems fair to allow sale of LPs. If you can "buy" sec status by paying someone else to have effectively put in the effort I don't see why a player shouldn't pay another player to put in the effort to get the LP.

I hate the idea as it homogenizes LP stores and markets, cutting opportunities for mission runners to exploit arbitrage who do research. We have a mechanism in place to trade LP, through just one level of indirection called the market, and its up to individual LP holders to determine their exchange rate.

Or alternatively allows those same, research happy people to buy undervalued LP and profit on it in much the same way?

This would be really useful for people with multiple mission running alts, since they could give all their LP to one person so that they could actually have enough to use. It suck how atm, if you want to buy something with LPs you have to earn enough to buy it on every character.

To hell with just contracts. Put LP on the markets so it can be manipulated, speculated, traded, bought and sold. This is probably as close to a stock market as Eve would ever get. The latest new from FW could cause market turmoil. A suicide ganking hell camp of Osmon could spike SoE LP. The results would be beautiful.
