Why is somebody buying boat loads of Kruul's DNA for an inflated price....

Is there anything interesting going to happen with this item?

I would just like to know why buy up something that as far as I can see is worthless and nothing publically has been said about them that would make them spike. As far as I can see.....

someone used it for a margin trading scam a while back ... it's a possible. Apart from that I can't see any reason to buy lots of it.

There have been some comments made that have relevance to the future market price of Kruul's DNA.

I shudder to think of the pools of Kruul's DNA that are sloshing around in the bottom of my station cargo bay. It would be nice to have something useful to do with them.

It would be even nicer if people stopped saving that god damned damsel in distress and just let her rot .......

i remember a guy who accidentally shot the can with the damsel and came to MC to ask where he could get another one.

There is probably more of Kruul's DNA sloshing around in the Damsel.

I remember about 6 years ago there were a few comments made on DNA and its future by CCP. I can no longer remember what it was exactly but at the time it made me spend the next 9 months collecting a tonne of it. Nothing ever eventuated and there would be way to much of the stuff now. Besides I think the comments were a bit of a troll by CCP employees.

Edit. I remember now. There was once a skill called Genetic engineering that if I remember right was in the database item tables but never in game. That or it was in game but did nothing so not worth training. It talked about allowing the use of DNA mutators. Devs mentioned that DNA might have other uses in the future. It never happened.. I don't think it will.

Edit. It didn't take long to find an old link. http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=312696

I guess the talk back then about it allowing you to turn into a jov and the quote at this link http://www.mmorpg.com/blogs/Inktomi "Odyssey, the next expansion due out for EVE players is going to expand the universe into Jove space." is making someone buy it up. I wont bother as I have a tonne of it somewhere. There is a lot around. Blink

I remember a few years back when I would rat for hours in Curse collecting a large pile of Worthless tags, they had no Value or Use.

Then along came a patch that gave my worthless collection of Tags a nice Value of over 5 Bill.

Most items like these you collect between patchs when they are cheap and forgotten about. Best not to do it in the run up to a new patch unless you know something that might make a difference.
