im new to SnI and looking to produce Nanite Paste. ive already stockpiled enough of the Paste mats to produce over 1k units. i was wondering what my options are and if there's a 3rd Party site that might lay out the basics. ive already read the EveWiki on basic Manfing, looking for an in-depth source on Paste itself.

and any tips from the more experienced SnI heads of Eve.

thanks in advance. Pirate

short version: rtfm

long version:

1. take the materials you have built from planetary interaction to a station with a factory slot and the nanite rep paste bpo
2. build the nanite paste
3. sell the paste in any other region than Heimatar
4. profit

short and sweet. one clarification: meaning of rtfm. and how would i obtain a BPO? all i have found thus far are BPC's. cheap as hell but it definitely eats into my profit margin.

thanks. it's nice to get a reply every now and again o/

Search in your market tab for Nanite Repair paste. Click on the Blueprint original and bring up the market orders for your region. You should see a bunch of sell orders. If I recall correctly, it's about 50 million ISK.

re: RTFM... google it.

Just remember not to buy any BP's that have material effeciency research. ME does not work on Nanite Paste. Some people just don't know this, and waste time researching it; some know it, and do it anyway so they can overcharge people who don't know it.

i figured that out as well. i researched it before i dug too deep. only spent 17k so im not heartbroken. i learned that it's only on BP's require massive individual ingredients where ME research is effective. Nanite Paste has such low numbers that percents arent effective. thank you for the ehads up. you've been more helpful than the Trolls as of late.

Material effeciency only works on BPO's that use minerals or moon products. Ones that use PI products like Nanite Paste are not impacted by ME research.

Specifically, materials marked as EXTRA do not have any waste.

You can see what materials are marked as extra in a manufacturing quote, or by looking in the database.

Nanite repair paste materials are not marked as extra as far as I can tell, but at 10 percent waste the largest quantity item is 4 so that's less than 0.5 unit of waste (which gets rounded up to 1), so no research is needed regardless.

thanks for the tip! im assuming that the minimum quantity affected by ME research is 10 units.

Nope. 0.5 units of waste is rounded up to 1 unit. So if it has ROUND ( 5 * (1 + 10% )) = ROUND( 5.5 ) = 6 it needs research if not extra.

Take the amount on a BPO in-game with 10% waste that is M.E. 0 and divide by 5.5 (or look in the database and divide by 5, as database numbers do not include waste). Ignore any remainder, and that is the perfect M.E.

For example: Look at a M.E. 0 BPO in-game with 10% waste and with largest quantity of 43 units.
FLOOR( 43 / 5.5 ) = 7
Perfect (no waste) is M.E. 7

Very useful info. Is this true for other kinds of waste (e.g. not having Production Efficiency at 5, or additional wastage from POS rapid assembly arrays?)
