The new Tags system: Tag4Sec

Not sure were this would go so i am putting it as a discussion topic.

I just watch the Tags4sec/crime watch part of the stream and I have to say I liked most of it. But like always everyone has an idea that is different than the Devs, and so do I.

The tags are cool and I really like it, but the 4,6,6,4 I think is not the best idea. I like the 4 to get from -10:-8, and the 6 from -5:-2, and the 4 from -2:-0. The part I don’t fully agree with is the 6 to get from -8:-5. I personally think that it should be one step harder to get into .8:1.0 space again.

After you get past -5 on your way down you can no longer go into some parts of high sec. from -5 up it is just cosmetic fixing. It should be harder and cost more for people buying the tags to get from -8:-5, and take more time to find the tags over all. Most pirates won’t even bother going past the -5:-2 anyways. This will also make it so new players are not going to be as easily hit by players that are known to suicide gank in the upper systems.

This is just my thoughts about that system. Overall I really do like it.

What was your take?

and yes this is not  my main.

the amount of tags needed is irrelevant unless you know the drop rates of tags.

It's also meant as a means to give value to Low Sec... get more people playing in there, as these tags will have substantial value on the Market.

And then they get banned.

each row of tags also is a different tag so it might be harder to do a 4 tag turnin than a 6 one if their drop rate is different

I think it's bizarre that commander and officer tags are so worthless.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

But you think the ones they have at 6 would be the more rare. Only because the -8 : -5 allows people with neg sec to go into higher and higher zones.

For those that have no idea what i am talking about this is the tags
Tags4Sec

I dont see why low seccers need special treatement. They should just grind up standing the way everybody else does it. Put more valuable rats in low sec, but don't allow them to buy the tags from market. I guess its too late now though anyway.

Well, it's a nice idea. But most of them flashies won't care about sec anyways.

And this is the main problem as this sound like "pay to win". I'm a pirate and I like to hurt people in hi sec. But also I don't like to waste time hunting some lame npc's. So it happens that my wallet is healty and it will allow me to buy a few plex that will allow me to have enough isk to buy those tags so I will be back in business in no time. I can understand that this will bring profit to CCP, but in a subscription based mmo this not something fair. There will be no more risk vs reward for pirates from now one, only a big I Win button.

Even for the pirates who don't allow to buy a plex or two per week/month, hunting down those npc's is a joke. Those npc's are located in our own yard, there is none to interfere with our business. So basically Concord is our best ally, if we fuk up in hi sec, they will also help us to get things straight and get back asap in hi sec to bring more drama and destruction. To be honest, I don't see any serious reason anymore to go live in null or low sec when all the combat and fun is projected to happen in hi sec. Until now CCP plan was to bring more people into null, but now it seems that they wish to bring all of us back in hi sec.

Buy PLEX - buy tags - buy status. Rinse and repeat as needed.

At least it has the virtue of being easy to understand.

This is not a signature.

Lame. Even easier for gankers to get their easy kills in highsec and not have to worry and sec issues.

I thought the whole idea was to get people to leave highsec, not reinforce them staying there?

I guess the only good thing from this will be more cash for CCP.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

my take is: i don't like ability of getting rid of SS with help of ISK. We know where is the biggest amount of ISK don;'t we?

Now when somebody starts Burn Jita or whatever they need to get rid of SS.
With tags they will just use their ISK to buy tags and repair SS then repeat ganking.

This will make these actions much longer. If you enjoy it -> tags is what you will like.

Nah, we will just stay -10 and use that isk on more gankboats.

it's not a buff, it's just removing the tedium of grinding sec status.

no buff to see here, move along please.
