PvE Armageddon?

Admittedly, I have never messed around seriously with Amarr. But over the last couple of weeks I've gotten interested in them, and I bought an Armageddon... largely to look at, because it's pretty. However, I'd like to actually fly the thing at some point -- mostly in PvE to begin with -- rather than simply ship spinning it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a fit that's not like... 4 years old.

I had been using http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/33038-Armageddon-Level-4-miss-geddon.html as just a rough template on EVEMON for basic skills to train up, but seeing as I'm nearing completion on T2 pulse specialization (I do know enough to know scorch is good), I was hoping someone could suggest a more modern setup? Because, given my experience with old battleclinic builds, I'm guessing that the one I posted is crap by today's standards?

But, again, I don't 'do' Amarr, and wouldn't know better.

Thanks in advance.

The GED is getting a major overhaul in the summer bs changes. It is becoming the direct step up from the amarr drone/neut family of ships. For now its OK in missions as a mjd/tac platform but far from ideal. Strictly speaking of mission running the nonselectable ammo is a real pain in the rump. This is particularly true vs angels.

I love the golden fleet myself. If you have T2 sentries ready then the GED can be a mission monster come summer. Otherwise just train for the mach and get those projectile skills up.

Why don't you fit your ship yourself?

The Navy Geddon wont be getting changed though will it? So if you like the look of the normal geddon, buy the Navy one so you don't get hit with the changes.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

At the present I don't think there has been much (speculation) word on the faction hull changes. Though to be totally honest if you're zoomed in enough to see your ship then you are missing the point of spread sheets in space.

In my book, pretty ships are for station spins or spectacular explosions. Beyond the RP aspects the effectiveness of the ship and my ability to fly it are the significant factors. The meta gaming and min/max exist because someone who is far smarter (generally) all ready did the math for us as to what ships and fits work best where.

All that aside, don't listen too close to me. If you are set on a hull then fly it. Just don't forget that it is your choice and as such complaints that it isn't optimal are quite silly.

Geddons are horrible for PVE due to their capacitor and fitting issues.
If you want to use one, I'd recommend fitting it as a wingman for another person with a reasonable PvE BS and using its 5 sentries and DHPLs with Scorch to add the extra dps. As a solo PvE boat... no. Just get an Apoc.

As for Odyssey changes, I don't like speculations, will comment on that when I see the actual end effects on TQ.

How horrible. I love the model and it's becoming a neut/drone boat? You couldn't pay me to sail one of those. I'm only interested in gunships, and detest the Apoc -- it looks like some kind of Star Trek phaser rifle (the Abaddon is okay but far from a favorite). Yes, looks do matter. I refuse to play in any way that they do not.

Guess that kills Amarr for me. Ugh Thanks, CCP, for wrecking the Prophecy and the Geddon for me. Bravo.

Navy geddon will be unchanged for a good while- they aren't touching the navy BS's yet. Hopefully, they keep it true to the classic, to keep the old Amarr flavor alive after changing the t1 version.

The new geddon should still be a beast though, if you can use t2 sentries and cruise missiles.

I don't like it. I understand that the new version has its fans, but I am decidedly in the camp of preserving (and even celebrating) the original differences between the races. Everything CCP is doing at the moment is breaking down those barriers, and it's just plain sad.

If the Geddon changes go live, then the Navy version should stay as it is. We don't need 3 incarnations of the Bhaal flying around -- there's absolutely no necessity for that. If a Navy boat is going to get worked over, crap on the Apoc instead. Some of us like the Geddon model paired with lasers, shocking as that apparently comes for CCP.

Navy geddon will not be changed. Also, it's currently cheap, at ~15 mil higher than an Abaddon.

Here's a fit.

Not that we know of. Honestly, at this point, I don't think anything is safe.
