I am excited and scared at the same time, a month or so ago I saw Homeworld 2 for sale in EB Games and bought it just because I could and I can't remember where I put my first copy.

"Brian intends as first priority to direct Gearbox's interest to preserve and assemble the purest form of the original acclaimed and beloved games, Homeworld and Homeworld 2, with the intent of making them accessible on today's leading digital platforms."

If Homeworld 1 and 2 get added to Steam I will likely re-buy them on there as well, guessing if they sell well on digital platforms then they may look into doing a Homeworld III, only lets hope they keep it close to its roots.

All I expect from Gearbox, is a ****** fps with thousands of useless crappy weapons and reddit memes...

And Randy Pitchford's lies.

edit: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=273193 I'm telling you, they are going to make a fps, it would sell pretty good :D

Space Marine was okay, although that was over the shoulder third person.
But I guess that you can make shooters from RTS, still I would rather it just stayed RTS for the time being.

I guess we can now look forward to Homeworld Forever: Colonial Soldiers

In the mean time, i'll go drown my sorrow in quafe as I listen to Gearbox flush another beloved franchise down the toilet.

I read that stuff about gearbox, and i am both scared and excited. They could do a horrible thing like colonial marines or an awesome game like relic did it in ye olden days..

I am dissapointed aswell quite a bit, I would have rather seen this IP stay with Relic, to bad Relic has turned into the WH40K factory they didnt want to be turned into.

Gearbox beter respect this IP and know what gem they got in there hands, before damaging and scratching it to dust.

If they do not respect it, i suggest we hire some dusties to mark them and then have fun with orbital bombardment

I have no hope, only sadness. They only published/developed FPS, they could make RTS alright, but Homeworld is not the type of RTS I would trust to almost anyone in the current game industry.

It was a sensible game with its own feeling, all I can foresee from Gearbox is a fps to gouge some money of nostalgia kids who never played the originals.

PS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiT6EAehctY Swap Aliens: Colonial Marines with the Homeworld theme, and you will share my vision of what is bound to happen...

i don't think there has been any game as the original homeworld that had such a profound effect on how , what and why i play games

Even today almost14 years later i am still impressed by its intro and storyline

lets hope they can reproduce something as epic as the original game but i doubt it

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire
