I am running lvl 4 combat missions in high sec and i know a lot of the missions spawn asteroids to mine. I have two alt mining accounts and am wondering how that works. Do those asteroids disapear when i turn in the mission? I know i can pass a book mark over to the miners but i am not fmailiar with the spawn/despawn mechanics.

Is this even a good idea? Assuming i stay in hi sec, should i mine my mission sites, start training to look for grav sites, or should i not bother and just compete it out in all of the spawned system belts

- They despawn when the mission area vanishes upon turn-in, and after downtime when the mission is flagged as completed.

- IIRC, you can keep the pocket open by having the miners actually in there. Someone's done that with me salvaging a joint-run mission before.

- If you're running the alts and doing the missions anyway, it might be worth it.

- Good luck defending mining barges from mission rats.

In the case of a multi-room mission where the ore is in the first mission pocket, as long as you don't complete the mission - it will respawn at a new location in that system every day at DT, with all new rats and all new asteroids. So for some of the better missions, you can farm it for 6 or 7 days in a row before you need to finish it and turn it in. Clear the mission pocket, bring in the mining vessels, repeat the next day.

Some of the missions spawn pockets with 400-650k m3 of ore, which is far better then most grav sites.

This gives a very handy list of which missions spawn which ores.
