Cruise Missile Naga?

I am not sure if this is the right forum, so feel free to move if not.

With the proposed changes to Cruise Missiles, they can become (at least semi) usefull in PvP. Now, each race has a T2 BC which can use BS type weapons (glass cannons). Minmatar have a Tornado (projectile), Amarr the Oracle (lazorzzzz), Gallente the Talos (hybrid) and Caldari? Caldari have the Naga, who ALSO uses large hybrids.... This made sense before as there really were no usefull Battleship type missle weapons which would "work" in PvP.

Thankfully, the Cruise Missiles are getting a MUCH needed buff. Would it not time to change the Naga to the true Caldari Vessel and use missiles?

Here we go again.
Maybe if pirate bcs come out, Guristas could have a large missile glass cannon of their own.

There's already a pretty good Caldari missile BC, you should check it out.

And which Caldari BC can use LARGE missiles (i.e. torps or Cruise)?

Thanks.

The Naga is awesome as it is. Making it a missile boat would ruin it.

:O oh as you as minmatar and minmatar is already the missile race , why dont you go and ask to make the tornado the torp/cruise m boat?
The best thing could happen with the naga that it doesnt have to use lame up missiles

This is a good idea, but surely a better way of solving the "problem" of two ABCs using hybrids would be to make the Talos into a drone boat? Big smile

What the hell are you talking about? Fully half of the Caldari lineup uses hybrids. Missile ships are no more "true Caldari" than hybrid ships.

originally I believe the naga was designed as a missile boat in mind. It was either way too OP or basically weak as **** and CCP decided it would be better off as a hybrid platform...I can use both the missiles and hybrids but i dont see CCP changing the weapon systems any time soon.

So no to cruise Nagas

Originally, I believe the Naga had bonuses to both missiles and hybrids. For some reason, CCP decided to drop the missile half, and now we have two hybrid ABCs and no missile ABCs.

It kind of sucks for missile users to not have any options at all when it comes to ABCs and *have* to cross-train into gunnery to fly one effectively, and it would be great if there was a missile ABC. Unfortunately, at this point the Naga is too successful as a hybrid boat to change it to missiles, so it'll never happen.

I personally wouldn't mind the change, but I'm not too fond of it either.

Even though there are two hybrid attack BCs, one is clearly geared towards blasters while the other one is clearly geared towards railguns.

Because of medium rails are pretty bad at the moment with CCP showing no intention of fixing them until at least winter, there is no real medium sized rail boat other than the Naga. The Moa and Ferox are great ships, but seem to be best with blasters.

The missile Naga was dropped because test server feedback was largely that it was utter **** unable to fill any niche, if I recall. P

Thats the thing, the Drake doesn't need to. It would be worse off if it did (except maybe torps in some crazy fleet in which every drake has a TP fitted)

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

it was the latter. By many accounts it was a flaming turd on sisi.

Even with upcomig buffs rails are better for it. As op would realize when even cruised up, his boys in talons and nados are leaving him space dust to shoot, or it will still be dead last on damage dealers. Well maybe not dead last, that be the frigate tackler getting pot shots in.

If I recall the missile Naga tested had 1 bonus for GMP Torpedo's, 1 for rails and terrible fitting for Torps. I would say the missile Naga tested was missiles in name only.

I don't think they should get rid of the rail Naga at all if it came down to it. Releasing a Naga Mk II with full Missile bonuses and fitting however would be a nice treat. As for the other races if they need to make it up, Laser Prophecy Mk II, Shield Artillery Cane Mk II and something Gallente Mk II.

That would be the only way I could see a Missile Naga. I definitely want one, not at the expense of the one we got though.

I would sign that. I am just thinking with the imroved Cruise Missiles, it would be a GREAT addition to the arsenal...
