So Im going to be working on my cald navy standings.... in general what kind of damage should I tank for running missions for them?...basically what will the vast majority of my opponents be so I can figure out damage types...as well as types of damage to use.

I figure Ill use a cr in lvl 1-3 then a bs for lvl 4s

A majority of the missions are going to be against Guristas/Sansha, with the occassional Angel and Gallente missions thrown in.

Save this: http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports it will tell you what damage type to use and what to fit for to reduce your incoming damage.

the kind of missions you get depends not only on the corporation you are running for but also on the region of space you are in. you may have noticed that some missions like the blockade, vengeance and xxx extravaganza have several versions. depending on where you are, you will always get the 'local' version of these missions if there is one. for example if you run missions in the forge, the citadel or lonetrek, you will only ever get guristas extravaganza and never angel extravaganza.
that said, you will still get the occasional 'non-local' mission, such as for example The Assault (gurista version) in Amarr space.

TL;DR: if you stay in caldari space and run for caldari navy, you will get almost exclusively gurista missions.

I should buy an Ishtar.

There will be variations, of course, but in Lonetrek/Forge/Citadel/Black Rise, you're probably most likely to be sent on missions against Guristas. If that's the case, you'll want to reinforce your tank against thermal and kinetic damage, and arm your ship for long-range kinetic (or alternately thermal) damage.

That'll mean your primary armament should be either railguns, Scourge long-range heavy/cruise missiles, Caldari drones, or artillery firing Phased Plasma (primarily thermal damage, but higher alpha than the kinetic-heavy but lower-damage Titanium Sabot rounds).

And have alternate hardeners ready, as well as shorter-range weapons for when you do get certain alternate enemies such as Angels (blasters for railguns, assault missiles for heavy missiles, torpedoes for cruise missiles, autocannons for artillery). A good mission boat should be adaptable, in my experience.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten Angel Extravaganza from a Caldari Navy agent.

The mission runners bible is, http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports .

It will tell you the damage type to use and what damage you need to tank against and the important triggers, depending on the mission.

The agents in caldari space have given out lvl 4 angel extravaganza quite often, however the one mission they have not given out is a lvl 4 blockade of any faction. In my experience.

I'd been running missions for some time in Lonetrek with no Blockade, and a mix of Guristas and Angel Extravaganzas. I recently moved to a Caldari agent in Gallente space, and immediately got a Serpentis Extravaganza (not nearly as extravagant, folks), and a Blockade.

So-- definitely regional variation!

Guristas space (Lonetrek): confirming you can indeed get both extravaganzas, Angel and Guristas. Angel version is a ninja looter's/salvager's heaven, so be on guard.

Blockade is not accessible in this area.
