So...

I've 'reinvented' myself over 25 times since starting in 2004.

I've been a miner, a somewhat pirate, and I've been around the map in several large alliances.

Eve doesn't interfere with my work, or family time. I've always managed fleets around my real schedule by joining alliances that had likewise timed CTA's.

I just feel burnt out of eve.

I recently got rid of my last toon (forums) but now I seem to find myself browsing the forums again over and over looking at toons.. am I addicted to shopping? or just Eve... lol.

Start by admit you DO like Eve but can't find enough interest to play it all the time, there's no problem with this.

Come and play when you feel you're good to, just stop playing and leave when you feel you're bored.

Eve is more than just a game, I find my self included in those that play more or less depending on IRL because work, ladie, kids etc so some times I can play an entire month, some times a couple hours a week and sometimes not at all for months but there's this little thing over spaceships that also makes me get back: the relationship build overtime with some dudes/dudettes

If you don't have this kind of "relationship", don't like more than that the "spaceships" and space exploring kids dream, then it should be easy for you to just delete Eve folder, stop you sub, and never get back.

I feel with you. I was once addicted to diablo LoD and it ends when my account was hacked and i lost everything without the chance for getting it back.

You could trade all your isk, your stuff and everything to me. I will lock them up in my hangar. Everytime you try to begin a new start, you have to tall to me.

Stop logging in.

That's it.

EVE is a hobby and not just any game you play for kicks. Its a long term affair something that just can not be rushed. Just release your fears and become EVE. Cool

I don't understand the question. Is Eve problematic and so you want to quit? Or is it not as fulfilling as it once was but you can't seem to stop logging in and ship spinning anyway? From your OP it sounds like you manage your time and RL well enough. So what is your concern? Why do you feel the need to stop playing?

If its because you feel the time is wasted just think of all the mindless television that people watch, or the compulsion to drink alcohol or eat excessively. We all end life the same way, I'm not sure this idea of "maxing" out ones time here is so relevant as the world makes it out to be. Maybe the soul needs these kinds of distractions/impulses/addictions in order to fully develop. Or maybe we are just here for a while and then gone, so do what you enjoy as much as you can while you have the time. As long as you can maintain a good standard of living for yourself and those that you care about while you are here it doesn't really matter how you spend your time.

But if you really want to get rid of Eve I think the thing to do is to move. Physically change environments, even a vacation away from where you currently live will help. Otherwise we tend to fall into our same old rituals, which for you sounds like logging into EveO. The other thing you could do is to post your login name and PW on a few forums. That will take the characters out of your hands pretty quickly.

Anyway, best of luck.

I quit every six months or so. And on the release dates of other games I want to play.

Teenagers are the worst... Shocked

I disagree about the children. If you have small children (toddler, baby) then you don't have a lot of free time and you're always vulnerable to 'kiddus interruptus' so surfing the forums is easier than trying to plan on having an "uninterruptible" block of time to play.

Personally, I'm at the point where I pick long training times so I don't have to login more than a few times a month. And yes, I still check the forums. =/

As for advice to the OP, games like Eve are a lot like girlfriends. It's easier to get over your old one when you get a new one.

Put your character in a Titan. That is a popular route.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

If you get a bot you should probably stop playing the game forever

Burn all bridges with your support networks in-game, destroy all assets. Trade your useful characters for ISK, use that ISK to buy a pile of skillbooks until your wallet is dry and trash the stacks. Biomass, change account passwords, forget them, and remove the client from your PC.

Too much effort. Just engage in RMT or botting and make it obvious enough that CCP has no choice but to set your wallet negative and/or perma-ban your account.

For Bonus Points (i.e. so that you can say that you have won at Eve when people ask why you quit,) try to arrange it so that your self-immolating pyrrhic RMT'ing actually gets an enemy player in trouble with CCP.

He seems like a capable enough fellow with his work/life/game balance all worked out so I'm guessing he's just bored with EVE and looking for attention. (And getting it)

This is possibly the most psychotic, pants on head ******** thing I've read in my life.

If that's the "most psychotic, pants on head ******** thing" that you've ever read, then you aren't paying attention to politics in your country.

Also, show me a definition of "rational human" that every rational human can agree on. Do it. Come on, I double dare you. Twisted
