But then, trolling will not earn you any Bean Cake Points (which are useless). On the other hand, so please be a little more beanlike and instead of being mean, actually help the poor OP out. You would want not the same to you, right?

If your looking for pvp highsec isn't the place to find it, unless your in RvB.

Joining a pvp corp in lowsec or nullsec is your best bet generally. If you want to avoid large blobs and mostly do small gang stuff stick to non-FW lowsec and NPC nullsec. FW fleets tend to get blobby and Sov nullsec is the home of huge blob warfare. If larger fleets are your thing then look into FW or joining a Sov holding nullsec alliance.

For solo stuff, best you can do is ask for 1v1s and hope they honor it. A lot of lowsec pirates will honor 1v1s. Other problem with lowsec is it isn't frigate friendly, gate and station guns heavily limit where you can agress with a frigate. In nullsec you can shoot anyone, anywhere but get to deal with bubbles and roaming blobs, and never expect 1v1s to be honored (if you want an example, last weekend I engaged a crow on a gate with my dramiel and 20 of his buddies jumped in the instant I tackled him lol, I still managed to escape).

Do any of you ever get an honest 1v1 or do the fights usually involve command ship alts, neutral remote repair help or other shenanigans?

It really looks like one or both parties will involve neutral remote repair or command ship alts or even corp mates in every single instance.

Any experience to the contrary?

Is the only lesson to be learned that you must out-shenanigan your opponent as opposed to simply being the better trained and higher skilled pilot?

In high sec 1 v 1 fights i always found that the cheaper the ships involved the less likely there would be cheating. But even in frigates there will always be a few.... who just cant stand losing.

I know, right? Last weekend I engaged a noctis with my purifier, and that sad cheap dishonorable coward called in his corpies.

Pirate frigs are another problem you'll have to face in low and null, OP.

You know, usually seeing 1 vs 1 being dishonoured makes me sad, but when it happpens to a Dramiel pilot, well, they've got it coming to them.

Speaking from a Dodixie standpoint, the only people you can count on in that system to uphold 1v1 agreements are:

Axel Greye
Anya Klibor
Azelor Delaria
Commander Godsmack

While Anya Klibor and Azelor Delaria are me, I had a reputation prior to moving to Amarr space for a time in which I was well-known for honoring 1v1s. Now, yes, I do usually have neutral RR on standby, but the truth is I don't use it unless you bring in yours first. T1 frigates and cruisers are dirt cheap. I want some fun fights! :)

I asked for a Tech I frigate fitted fight but the guy just brought out a faction fitted ship and told me after I died how he basically cheated so he could get a kill. I have yet to meet a single person in Eve who honours a proper 1vs1 fight in high sec. It's all about the killmails isn't it. One guy told me he sits just on top of the dock in a station in Hek where he can't be orbited or bumped and can insta dock if he starts to lose too much. Just don't get involved in future, leave them to it if they feel tough sitting on top of stations all day repping themselves.

Sausages anyone??

* make a few safe spots (4-5 or so is good)
* Go to the station and offer your 1v1
* Invite the dude that accepts to your fleet
* Go to one of your safe spots
* drop the can
* Hilarity ensues
* If you win keep warping between the other safe spots for 15 mins to let aggression timer expire

this does the following

1. Invalidates his boosters (since it's a 2 person fleet, each can see that there's no special boosting involved on one side).
2. Invalidates neutral RR - no RR at the safe spot for eighter one, he can see/confirm there's no RR at the safespot before taking the can.
3. Invalidates his corpies coming for help (barring scanning you down)

It's not 100% full proof, but is as close as it gets to assuring a fair fight. There is another weak point to strategy but I won't go into details now.

I recently moved into low sec for the first time for FW, and I must say, i've found a lot more people who will honor 1v1's, then in high sec.

And regarding Dixie, I've seen axel do many 1v1's, but I saw him getting RR from his Nova Ardour buddies, honor lost! =P
