123.3 looks about right for a L4 skilled Orca pilot, possibly missing the (OH GOD WTF HAPPENED) bil and a half mining implant. I don't have anything handy atm as I'm at work ... so it might be 5/5 (but still missing the link ... you're only getting a 50% bonus to the effectiveness of the module).

123.3 is indeed missing the last 3% from the industrial command ship skill thingy.
regardless, it's still % based and therefore irrelevant to which mines more.

I'm still fairly noob so maybe I just don't get it, but why do so many of the OP's fits have EM shield mods/rigs? What ganker is using EM damage?

From what I've seen, gankers care about kill boards, loot, and lulz. Fitting an expensive barge (aka loot pinata) is asking to be ganked, because even losing a bunch of 15M ISK Gankalysts to kill an expensive Mackinaw is still a win on the killboard, win for lulz/tears, and may even be profitable depending on the loot fairy.

My Retriever:

High: 2x Strip Miner I

Med: Adaptive Invulnerability Field I

Lows: Damage Control I
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I
Power Diagnostic System I

Rigs: Medium Core Defense Field Extender I
Medium Anti-Thermic Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I

Drones: 3x Hornet EC-300
2x Hobgoblin I (for belt rats)

Pretty cheap and not worth ganking unless I **** someone off.

You are STILL better off with a shield extender and 3 mining upgrades. Possiblyan EM rig, but nothing more.

better off without the shield extender or the rig, it's just extra isk on the killmail.

it's easier to just move 1 jump away than to sacrifice 30% mining yield fitting "tank" on a ship. that's just the situation and no amount of posting shitfits is going to change it *shrug*

Better that than barebone. The additional cost is minimal.

Edit : And what i meant is that the extra cost is IMO worth the chance of discouraging a ganker.Why attack one with some (minimal)tank if i'm not gonna get more loot, and there are 10 other without sitting next to it.

Before the blaster change the thrasher use to be the king of cheap ganks. Many gankers can fly both, and if you fly around with 0% em resist they can just switch to thrashers with emp ammo.

i keep a thrasher in my orca for this very reason. probability is that they're kin/therm tanked and i will waste a thrasher if you continually target my asteroids.

All hardners stack, not just Invuln fields.

If you fit a active or passive EM hardner and a Invuln the

The only resist bonus that does not stack is the bonus from the damage control mod.

I've listened to this guy/kid in his local system, and yes he pretty much is that dumb. ANYONE who fits their ships similar to how the OP posts is bound to fail, plain and simple. Why would you EVER put expensive meta 4/cosmos/T2 Rigs on a ship that can't take the gank fire from a single T1 fit Destroyer before Concord gets them is beyond me. Said dessy would cost maybe 3 mil and could EASILY destroy most of his 80-120 mil Barge fits.

Unless.... He is actually a ganker's alt who is posting this thread in order to mislead all the Eve noobs into believing he has the knowledge of an Eve god. Well, at least he has the ego of one, as most of his replies are "your stupid, that's expected" or "well it's either fit this way or die" kind of garbage.

Wait what? Did you actually just say the Mack can tank 6 T2 Catys? Even with T2 Rigs and every single slot low/high for tank + 6% Imps + 100% fully T2 bonus for Shield Harmonizing gang link WITH the slot 10 Siege Imp you still can't even get to 50K EHP, which can be ganked by (2-3) T2 Catys with time to play a game of cards before Concord shows up.
