He means that when Eve is shut down. The endgame of Eve Online for all of us in the Dusk war of the future.

Hoping we get to Matrix style interface's before then, Its been a dream of mine since I was 14 to literally jack into Eve and fly my Starships....

Well that was a fiction, pretty sure it would work differently if we are developing the technology for real. Point in context, we are now getting computer assistant watched that we have wanted since the 1920's.

I like to think Terran's are still alive and kicking. There are 7,500 star systems in New Eden and 200-400 billion in the Milky Way. The probability that Terran's explored the entirety of the Milky Way and settled it before or after the Eve gate collapse is low.

They built an eve gate, entered another space- which could be even an other dimension and they continued to evolve here.

I am really surprised that nobody in this topic thought that it is irrelevant. And I am astounded that some of you wonder if there is going to be an expansion including the space where earth is located. I am lacking words to express my frustration.

I don't know how to describe it, exactly, but players of eve just shouln't be concerned about what is going on in the place where they originated from. You will never know. It is either incomprehensibly far away, or even in other segment- dimension.

tl;dr

There is no answer to your question, because it is part of the story which was not even written. It was just a background to clarify the existance of the game universe. For the sake of recreation, you could host a "what if" discussion, but even if ccp were ever to run out of ideas/ come up with a brilliant idea - and connect us to the old universe - there is no sense in thinking about it now.

This would be the storyline for the RPG Heavy Gear. Same thing happened, Earth was head of a huge Empire and some colonies got cut off for a long time. When Earth was able to come back and reclaim its lost colonies, those colonies had their own technology (Gear tech which is mech/walker) and government structure and of course resisted. The terrans had bioengineered soldiers and advanced hover/antigrav technology. Very cool storyline.

I would like to see the Eve Gate open, a massive Earth Fleet come in and wreak havok and then the Gate collapse again trapping the Earth fleet here and they become another faction. WOuld be great fun for Dust and Eve.

If we assume that Earth never suffered from a dark age like EVE did, then they would be 16k years ahead of EVE and most likely no longer human. I think the Jovians are still in contact with Earth, wouldnt that be interesting....

i have a theory the only our side of the eve gate close. and it opened somewhere else. and this somewhere else is where our wormholes go. hence the sleepers are actualy true terrans.

The more I think about it, the more I want to believe that the Terran Empire / whatever you want to call them was destroyed. So if the EVE Gate ever did reopen.. well hello to another immensely huge addition to an already giant map.

Maybe the Earth and all the other civilizations on the Adam side collapsed as well due to the Adam gate doing what the Eve gate did to the Eve cluster, in addition to the Adam worlds running out of the resources they needed to sustain their advanced way of life. Maybe we're the remnants of said collapsed civilization. Maybe we recreated part of our own back story, one including our colonies, and don't even know it.

That's what i think, but no one knows. Hell CCP probably did not even think of this. But what really happened to Earth and the milky way is what you think.

Earth. A world outgrown. scared by war and burdend with our advances. A world that is no longer ours. A myth, legend. It could now be thriving, or burned to ash, or even ruled by another race.

Something that no one has yet to mention is the fact that the universe is infinite. Scientist have yet been able to prove that there is an end to the universe. There are millions if not billions of galaxies out there. What if the case is that Terrans after the EVE gate collapsed, still haven't been able to find what galaxy it went to. The EVE galaxy could also be so far away that they just haven't been able to find it...yet.
